Quit while you’re ahead – gotcha.

But this is, in all truth, the best week of the year for a lot of punters and while it’s often the case that you’d rather pick up a racecard and look for the funny name – or better again, read any one of our tip sheets ahead of the day’s action – I can hand you a shortcut through the nonsense chatter and straight to the money.

Yes, this week I’ll combining the Championship race at Cheltenham to the biggest game of football on the day. The absolute best of both worlds I hear you say? I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Liverpool to Win and Both Teams to Score

Arsenal look revitalised under Mikel Arteta, which, if you’re paying attention to the long-term forecast, means they’re due an absolute clanger soon.

But perhaps the biggest lesson this football club could learn is to have the bad days when they’re expected of you and then be consistent outside of those games.

It’s fairly much how the rubbish team always got fourth for so many years, and now achieving that feels like the ultimate aim again at the Emirates.

Still, I hate cliches but the only one I’ll afford is Jurgen Klopp saying his team will take this one game at a time. Right now, the title is coming down to that mega clash between Liverpool and Man City in early April.

Absolutely nothing can go wrong between now and then for either side and I honestly think that laser focus will kick them into another gear here, even if I can see Arsenal scoring relatively early on.

Questions

Shishkin to Win the Champion Chase

Yes, it was only a length when the two met earlier in the season. Yes, a length is easy to overturn and yes, Energumene adds an even more dangerous element for Shishkin when he seeks to become the premiere two-mile chaser around.

But the first meeting was very much on the Mullins’ contender’s terms – he had his way in front, got the fractions practically all right, had a flatter track and jumped immaculately.

Shishkin hit two out the back and still chinned him. If you’re telling me that you can overturn a length when, minus the setbacks, Shishkin would have finished half the straight ahead of him if Nico wasn’t so cautious, then I’d have serious questions.

As for Chacun Pour Soi? Don’t be surprised if he’s pulled out the morning of over a stone bruise or something. Poor fella doesn’t like the ferry.
