With Cheltenham kicking off tomorrow, Paddy has put together his five horses for his Lucky 31 at the festival this week.
Epatante – Champion Hurdle, Tuesday, 3.05
This is the race I’m most looking forward to this year. So many questions to be answered. The form lines are working out great all across the board. Lots of pace on here. Goshen amongst others will be up there. I think that will set it up nicely for Epantante who hopefully will just sit in behind them. She will be slightly overlooked in my opinion in relation to this race and therefore might return a slightly bigger price than we were expecting.
Put The Kettle On – Champion Chase, Wednesday,3.05
I think there’s a slight doubt whether or not the favourite will do it at Cheltenham. There are also plenty of doubts about the others. Put The Kettle On who won the Arkle last year, should be very straight forward. She’s a great jumper. She’s a cracking each-way bet in my opinion. I probably fancy this mare a lot more than what I should, but I just think she has a cracking chance in the race.

Zanahiyr – Triumph Hurdle, Friday,1.20
On it’s flat form and rating, Tritonic would be the one they have to beat here. Having said that, Zanahiyr for me is the outstanding prospect in the race. He’s won on a variety of ground. He’s answered a lot of questions and ticked a lot of boxes so far. He will do for me.
Torygraph – Albert Bartlett, Friday, 2.30
Torygraph is the one I really like here in this one. Progressing nicely this season from race to race. A few wins to it’s name already this season, the Cheltenham test should suit Torygraph. He represents value in this years renewal.
Minella Indo – Gold Cup, Friday, 3.05
Going for a bit of a flyer here in Minella Indo. Just touched off in the RSA last year. Comes alive at Cheltenham each year. You have to forgive his last two efforts, but if he can re-capture his form from last season, he has a great each-way chance.
