The Flat is back – and the Lincoln Handicap looks a cracker to headline the opening day of the turf season.
Mr Professor is bidding to retain the title, but history is against the Amo Racing runner as there have been just two repeat winners in the history of the Heritage Handicap and the double was last achieved in 1958.
The Lincoln has also been a tough gig for favourites, with just six market leaders justifying their place at the head of the betting in this century.
Lincoln Handicap odds can be found on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise key historical trends from the last 10 renewals and tips based off the big-race stats are below.

Lincoln Handicap 2025 trends verdict
After going through a whole host of trends, we are left with four horses that tick all the boxes:
LATTAM
Last year’s runner-up is bidding to go one better and is only 2lbs higher in the handicap compared to 12 months ago.
NATIVE WARRIOR
The Karl Burke-trained runner carries the Wathnan Racing colours and is lightly raced with just seven previous outings under his hooves.
OLIVER SHOW
A maiden on turf, the five-year-old gelding has race fitness on his side after a spell in Bahrain over the winter.
WHIP CRACKER
The Cracksman colt has also failed to win on turf to date and warmed up for this with an encouraging performance on the all-weather earlier this month.
