16:43 Ana Emaraaty

All three wins on this track, at 1m, 6f and 1m2f, the latest when appreciating the return to classified company 12 days ago; his earlier C&D handicap form suggests ANA EMARAATY will give another good account.

17:15 Life On The Rocks

A first AW win could be on the cards for LIFE ON THE ROCKS, who ran so well at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago. He’s dropped 12lb below his last winning mark. 5yo mares Violeta and Eva Rosie fought out the finish of a C&D classified contest recently, but a bigger threat might be posed by 2023 victor We Still Believe.

17:45 Market House

Yet another in a long line of older handicappers to be transformed by a switch to James Owen, MARKET HOUSE has been nudged up only 2lb for his latest win here and can complete the hat-trick now handed a stiffer test. Alex The Great, who had three of these behind over C&D 18 days ago, is the obvious danger.

18:15 Turquino

Andrew Balding’s son of Teofilo TURQUINO looked a really good prospect when going in at the first time of asking at Southwell recently and can make light of a 7lb penalty here. The returning Don Simon has some fair form to his name and could emerge as the main danger ahead of newcomer Destination Unknown and fair hurdler Inspire Hope.

18:45 Just Typical

A tight-knit handicap but it could pay to side with JUST TYPICAL to defy a 2lb weights rise for his cosy recent C&D victory and garner a fourth success of 2025. Concert Boy chased home Ian Williams’ 4yo that day and heads the list of dangers, although fellow C&D winner Wyvern and the handily weighted Impeach need factoring in too.

19:15 Inertia

A brother to three winners, including the yard’s Sparkling Red, INERTIA ought to be competitive off this mark if he’s more amenable in a first-time hood having been gelded over the winter. Bothy Park has shown enough to suggest she can be a factor, too, now handicapping at a lowly level.

19:45 Midnightattheoasis (NAP)

At least half the field fall snugly into the veteran-in-decline category, including last year’s winner Stallone. MIDNIGHTATTHEOASIS (NAP) is an obvious exception, though, and is the type with which Phil McEntee has always done well, having been rated much higher in his younger days. Kipp Kelly, who’s had no luck of late and is better off back into handicap company, is second choice.

20:15 Cloch Nua

The majority of the runners are worth a look, but if CLOCH NUA doesn’t leave himself with too much to do on the return to 7f, he looks the one to beat after his latest impressive win over 1m. This stiff 7f is probably the outer limit of Bomb Squad’s stamina, and Saisons d’Or may be a better forecast option, although Aspire To Glory can also have a say on the return to 7f in his first C&D run.
