14:17 Lingfield – Crafter (Daily Telegraph)
C&D winners Obsidian Knight and Ellexis make the shortlist, as does dual course winner Imperial Cult, whose five-month absence doesn’t appear to be an issue. However, the vote goes to CRAFTER whose record over C&D reads at 21242.
14:30 Wincanton – Briefly (The Racing App – NAP)
Anthony Honeyball’s 5yo BRIEFLY (NAP) bumped into a much-improved subsequent winner when running a big race in defeat over C&D on last month’s handicap debut and, with today’s faster ground suitable, she can overcome a rise in the weights. Larchmont Lass, a course winner in November, is second choice.
15:30 Wincanton – Zaochen Enki (Racing & Football Outlook)
Disguisedlimit seems very likely to run his race and play a major role but Paul Nicholls’ new recruit ZAOCHEN ENKI came second over hurdles in France last summer and is taken to strike on his British debut.
16:17 Lingfield – Gallant (Yorkshire Evening Post)
This only really involves previous winners. Diablo Rojo hasn’t been seen since finishing in midfield behind The Lion In Winter at York last August and the market should indicate what’s expected on his return. Hello Zaman is proven over C&D, which must count for something, but the vote goes to GALLANT. He hasn’t been seen for eight months since winning at Kempton, but the form of that race has worked out very well.
