Cheltenham tips: Frank Hickey’s mega odds Lucky 15 for the 2026 Festival

Paddy's top trader's having a couple of pence each way!

Don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy that it happened. That’s very much mantra we’re forcing ourselves to believe as Cheltenham 2025 disappears into the rearview mirror and we bound towards Aintree with a heart full of hope and a crumpled sweepstake selection in our back pockets.

Sure the Grand National Festival is fantastic, and we’ve a full summer of Flat action just about to kick off too, but Paddy’s top trader Frank Hickey just can’t stop thinking about Prestbury Park and he’s already eyeing up some potential big-priced winners at the 2026 Festival.

Super Frank’s summoned up an ante post Lucky 15 to mull over with, ohhhh, some 350-odd days to go until the big off in his Cheltenham Review over on Paddy’s Racing YouTube Channel. You can get your eyes and ears around that here but this punt comes in at a mega price and might be worth a few of your hard-earned pennies as we slowly tick off the days.

Cheltenham 2026 ante post tips

Champion Hurdle – Anzadam
Supreme Novice Hurdle – Ksar Fatal
Arkle Chase – Kawaboomga
Mares’ Chase – Air Of Entitlement

Champion Hurdle – Anzadam

Looking at the Champion Hurdle picture, Lossiemouth might come in but the fact that they didn’t have the confidence to go for it in 2025 suggest to me that they don’t truly believe in her.

State Man had an awful fall and will be a year older. I couldn’t have him again. Constitution Hill had another heavy fall, another year older. They’re all pushing on and time waits for no horse!

Anzadam is only five, he’ll obviously be six next year, and the reports were that he was working unbelievable before he got injured. The New Lion would be a big rival but Anzadam is the much bigger price.

Supreme Novice Hurdle – Ksar Fatal

The 2025 Bumper was a heap of s***e, so I wouldn’t be looking at the winner of that for the 2026 Supreme! However, you may have seen the winner of the next Supreme Novices’ Hurdle run the week before Cheltenham this year.

Ksar Fatal, trained by Willie Mullins, won at Gowran Park and was laid out for the bumper but they couldn’t get him out quick enough to qualify. He bolted up at Gowran by nine lengths. When I looked at the Champion Bumper I was like, ‘it is just rubbish!’

Ksar Fatal has 2m4f pedigree as well and he’s won a point to point so he may well look at the Turners but he didn’t look short of gears when he won at Gowran.

Arkle Chase – Kawaboomga

Next up is another Willie Mullins horse in Kawaboomga. Again, missed this year’s Festival, but beat William Munny at Fairyhouse and was second to Kopek Des Bordes at Leopardstown before that and he didn’t look fussed about winning that day.

He’s got the perfect blend of speed and stamina, I think, that you need for the Arkle. I don’t know if he’s going jumping fences or not but owner JP McManus has The New Lion to go down the Champion Hurdle route so I thought there’s a chance they might fire Kawaboomga at the Arkle.

Mares’ Chase – Air Of Entitlement

Finally, I don’t know if she’s definitely going chasing or not, but it’s Air Of Entitlement for Henry de Bromhead in the Mrs Paddy Power Mares’ Chase. I think everyone’s going to latch on to The Big Westerner but in my opinion she’s a three miler and she’ll go in the Brown Advisory.

She’s a big unit, she’ll definitely jump a fence and she’s won a point already. I think she’ll go elsewhere but Air Of Entitlement, if you look at the way she won the Mares’ Novice, you think she’s going to love 2m4f and she’s won a point as well.
