13:15 Kelso – Your Own Story

ITV Racing goes to Scotland, Wales and England on Saturday for action from Kelso, Bangor and Newbury, starting here with a handicap chase over 3m2f.

It’s a small field and not all are confirmed stayers at this trip. The well-being of a few is open to question, making things tricky.

One who does stay is YOUR OWN STORY for Lucinda Russell and Patrick Wadge. The gelding is inconsistent, but his second at this track in December off 128 was a fine one and he’s 3lb lower here. Basically, if he runs to what he can, he would have a huge chance.

He’s wearing a visor for the first time, which may help.

9/2
Your Own Story Win or Each Way

13:35 Bangor-On-Dee – West To The Bridge

Here’s a handicap hurdle over nearly 2m4f. WEST TO THE BRIDGE seemed to enjoy a drop in trip last time for Dan Skelton and should have each-way claims under Harry Atkins.

The win last time came off a mark of 127 and was in soft ground, but this faster surface is no concern and although up 4lb he has every chance if in the same form.

15/2
West To The Bridge Win or Each Way

Kelso – Wyenot

Here’s a Listed Mares Hurdle over an extended 3m. On all we know, WYENOT should take a lot of beating for Henry Daly. I love this chestnut mare as she can be a bold running horse on the front end and often jumps for fun.

Her third at Doncaster last time was not a bad effort at all. With a rating of 138, she should be difficult to stop. Stays strong.

4/6
Wyenot Win or Each Way

14:05 Newbury – Calimystic

A handicap hurdle over 2m3f. Some improvers in here. CALIMYSTIC looks to have a fair mark of 118 and goes handicapping for Nico de Boinville and Nicky Henderson.

My selection turned over a hot favourite at Doncaster last time when I was presenting at the track and it seemed to come as no surprise to James Bowen.

He looks quite promising.

11/2
Calimystic Win or Each Way

14:25 Kelso – The Jeweller’s Pet (each-way)

Now a handicap hurdle over 2m5f. A competitive heat. THE JEWELLER’S PET is getting his act together and ran well in point-to-points over 3m. This trip should be no issue.

The ground will be a little faster than he’s been on of late, which is a concern, but he’s looked impressive at Ayr (off 87 and 96) and is still on a lowly rating of 103. He can go from the from or off the pace, so tactics don’t matter. Alan Doyle takes off 3lb for Ian Duncan.

An each-way selection.

12/1
The Jewellers Pet Win or Each Way

14:40 Newbury – Imagine (each-way)

A handicap chase over 2m4f. A real chance taken here on IMAGINE, who was bought for a small fortune but has been hopeless since leaving the Gordon Elliott stable.

He wasn’t unfancied for the terrific Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham off 145 but was pulled up and is now down to 139.

It’s a leap of faith, but a few quid each-way for Harry Derham and Paul O’Brien.

11/1
Imagine Win or Each Way

15:00 Kelso – Northern Air

Now the final of a mares’ novices’ handicap hurdle series over 2m. NORTHERN AIR could be chucked in here off 110 for Harry Redknapp.

The mare seemed to show the benefit of a second wind operation when scoring well at Taunton last time, which suggested she could be a nice handicapper in the making.

He goes off 110 here, with the horse that beat him at Wincanton in June last year running off 128, so it shows you what she might have to give off her current mark.

Fergal O’Brien trains with Liam Harrison on top.

10/3
Northern Air Win or Each Way

15:15 Newbury – Jasmine Bliss

Up in class for a Grade 2 mares’ novices’ limited handicap hurdle over an extended 2m4f.

I really like JASMINE BLISS and was impressed with her at Southwell last time. I’ve seen her in the flesh a couple of times and she’s got size and scope.

Only time will tell whether she’s worth a mark of 125, but she’s got a future for Paul O’Brien and Harry Derham. It will hopefully be a good day for them.

5/1
Jasmine Bliss Win or Each Way

15:35 Kelso – Escapeandevade

A handicap chase over 2m1f. This is poor stuff for an ITV race. ESCAPEANDEVADE has been hopeless of late and may now be devoid of ability.

That said, he’s chucked on off 120 if he can recapture any of his old form.

He was second here just three runs ago off 129 and has gone well at this track.

Risked in a desperate race. James Ewart trains with Danny McMenamin on top.

7/2
Escapeandevade Win or Each Way

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
