13:15 Kelso – Dare To Shout
I priced this race up antepost and I liked Dare To Shout then – and I can’t see any other reason to go against him now. I would be concerned if the ground is good but it should hopefully be a little bit soft or good to soft. It’s a poor race and he is far superior compared to his opposition. He’s the most likely winner.
13:35 Bangor – Gentleman Bill
I’m with Gentleman Bill for Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero. He really caught my eye when I priced this race. He was out the back when last running at Kelso but he’s a point-to-point and bumper winner. He’s dropping back into calmer waters and his mark of 125 is workable. Mr Freedom is another runner I found interesting.
13:50 Kelso – Wyenot
Wyenot is the standout mare on a rating of 138. Her form is far better than any of the others in this race. She was third behind Golden Ace at Cheltenham last year before bolting up ahead of the reopposing Ottizzini at Doncaster. She was then third behind Jetara in January. The others will need to put up career bests if they are to beat Wyenot.
14:05 Newbury – Old Cowboy (each-way)
Old Cowboy is interesting for Gary and Josh Moore. It’s not a strong selection but he was very good when beating Willie Mullins’ More Coko, who went off at 1/8, at Plumpton last time out. It wasn’t a fluke that day and he’s got decent form. He’s a fair each-way play.
14:25 Kelso – Ballyfort (each-way) (NAP)
There’s a nice angle with Ballyfort. He ran well a few starts ago behind Rock On Jet at Ayr and he then went up to 2m 4f when sent off favourite. He walked home a bit that day and we can draw a line through that as he had wind surgery after the race. He then returned earlier this month when winning at Ayr. He bolted up and he looked like he would enjoy the step up in trip. He’s gone from 2m to 2m 5f and his rating of 109 is workable. He can show improvement so I’ll side with him each-way.
14:40 Newbury – Saint Segal
I’m with Saint Segal, who has been very consistent all season for Jane Williams. He’s a course and distance winner and it’s hard to knock him. He was unlucky when third last time out at Newbury and I’m happy to give him another chance. Everything seems to be in his favour to win this.
15:00 Kelso – Barrabool
Barrabool runs for Harry Derham and his yard have been in fine form in recent weeks. There’s a lot to like and she’s unexposed. She’s off a mark of 105 and she’s got decent form having finished behind Jubilee Alpha and Tour Ovalie on her last two starts. Alice Stevens claims 3lbs too and she should go close.
15:15 Newbury – Scarlet O’Tara (each-way)
This race can often throw up a big-price winner and I’m with Scarlet OTara. We’re getting a little better ground than she’s been running on and she has a chance of going well. She has solid form and a mark of 119 is more than workable with Luke Scott claiming 3lbs too. She’s an each-way play.
