The 2025 Cheltenham Festival is over – boo!

We had a cracking four days of action at Prestbury Park and while the Irish dominated once again, there were plenty of major upsets throughout the week.

Now it’s over, the only sensible thing is to look ahead to next year’s Festival, right?

Ruby Walsh and fellow ‘From The Horse’s Mouth‘ podcast panelist Rory Delargy have, for a bit of fun, given us a combined Lucky 15 for the Cheltenham Festival next year. Wonder how right they’ll be?

Cheltenham 2026 Lucky 15 Tips:

Ruby Walsh:
Majborough (Ryanair)
Inothewayurthinkin (Gold Cup)

Rory Delargy:
Rocky’s Diamond (Stayers’ Hurdle)
Jonbon (Champion Chase)

RUBY WALSH:

He might benefit from going half-a-stride slower next year over fences so I’ll side with Majborough was beaten in the Arkle Chase last week. It’s a long way away, but I like his chances in the Ryanair Chase  over 2m 4f next year.

10/1
Majborough 2026 Ryanair Chase (Antepost)

I’d say Fact To File could head to the Champion Chase which would leave Inothewayurthinkin clear to defend his crown in the Cheltenham Gold Cup  All three are owned by JP McManus. Maybe that could even turn into a treble for the 2026 Festival if you’re after an ante-post shout!

4/1
Inothewayurthinkin 2026 Cheltenham Gold Cup (Antepost)

RORY DELARGY:

Rocky’s Diamond is the first one that came to mind when thinking of a Lucky 15 for next year’s Festival. He’s the top of my list in the Stayers’ Hurdle in 2026 and he’s a big price at the moment.

25/1
Rockys Diamond 2026 Paddy Power Stayers Hurdle (Antepost)

Jonbon‘s price for the Champion Chase is an overreaction after he was beaten at Cheltenham this year in the same race. A double-figure price is too high. It’s big enough to take an each-way chance on him.

10/1
Jonbon 2026 Queen Mother Champion Chase (Antepost)
