14:20 Yealand
YEALAND has quickly developed into a better chaser than hurdler and made it two wins from four starts over fences when successful at Newcastle last month.
Yealand had to work hard to justify support but he showed a good attitude to lead close home and, given he’s only six, he remains with the potential to do a bit better over fences.
He gets the vote over Galunggung, who also arrives on the back of a win, having scored at Carlisle last month.
14:50 Pike Road
PIKE ROAD sets the standard and looks to have been found a good opportunity to get off the mark.
Pike Road was runner-up on his first two starts over hurdles and ran to a similar level as the pick of those efforts when fifth on his handicap debut at Catterick.
He was in the process of running creditably, though not going as well as the winner, when falling three out at Ludlow last time and can bounce back here.
15:20 Starcrossed Lover
STARCROSSED LOVER was disappointing when stepped up in grade at Kempton last month, but he had previously created a good impression when winning a Windsor maiden and Hereford novice on his first couple of starts for Neil Mulholland.
The level of form he showed when running out a 17-length winner at Hereford, looking a useful sort in the making, is the best on offer here and he can take advantage of this return to calmer waters.
15:50 Presenting Doy
PRESENTING DOY was off the course for more than a year after winning an Irish point, but she made an encouraging start under Rules when fourth at Warwick in January and then got off the mark at Lingfield last month.
She made rather heavy weather of landing the odds at Lingfield, only just holding on by a nose, but she remains with potential and it would be little surprise to see her take a step forward on her handicap debut.
16:25 Wal Buck’s
WAL BUCK’S got off the mark in comfortable fashion when landing a novice handicap chase over nearly three and a quarter miles here in December. Still, he was unable to confirm form with the runner-up, Good Work, when they met again at Uttoxeter in January and he had to settle for third.
His jumping at Uttoxeter wasn’t as assured as it had been at Haydock, but he’s been given a break and it would be little surprise to see this unexposed novice get back on the up returning to the scene of his previous victory.
He’s had only five starts over fences and is still unexposed as a staying chaser.
17:00 Hecouldbetheone
HECOULDBETHEONE failed to meet expectations when fifth at Taunton when last seen in November, but he had run well on his previous outing at Fontwell, where he was runner-up to a progressive four-year-old who won his subsequent start.
Hecouldbetheone looks fairly treated off the same mark as at Fontwell and is interesting on his return from a four-month break with a visor fitted for the first time.
17:35 Minella Rescue
Dual bumper winner MINELLA RESCUE has shown fairly useful form over hurdles and ran well when runner-up, albeit in a three-runner field, at Doncaster earlier this month.
He goes handicapping from a fair-looking mark based on that Doncaster form and doesn’t have many miles on the clock, especially as a stayer, so he makes most appeal.
