Showed promise last season; THE DAWN came on from his reappearance at Limerick when third (beaten 8l) over an extended 2m4f at Fairyhouse; never far from the pace when second over this trip at Clonmel.

15:02 Down Royal – Ar Nos Na Gaoithe (Spotlight)

Last month’s Clonmel winner AR NOS NA GAOITHE is taken to defy an 8lb rise on ground which could suit. Navy Waves and Cher Tara could be the selection’s most dangerous rivals.

15:47 Fontwell – Senor Diaz (The Star)

SENOR DIAZ made a promising start to handicaps at Plumpton (2m4f, good) last March but he dropped right out at Ffos Las in May and looked as though he’d be all the sharper for last month’s belated reappearance; needs to build on that but the suspicion is he’d prefer a stiffer stamina test.
