16:27 Urban Road (NAP)
Paradoxical won easily last Wednesday, but things fell ideally over the extended 1m1f that night, and this is a deeper race under the penalty. Kingdom Of Time’s two Southwell runner-up finishes since handicapping were both solid, and he’s respected, but URBAN ROAD (NAP) has been better than ever lately, with last Friday’s clear second over C&D arguably a career-best effort.
17:00 Second Collection
There’s good pace among the low numbers, notably from Bankrupt and Suanni, and this may be set up for something. Sir Benedict is one to consider, despite stall 11, for a yard among the winners, along with Kipp Kelly, who hasn’t had much luck of late, but Rossa Ryan is a positive booking for SECOND COLLECTION, who gets the nod.
17:30 Prince Of India
Carron is surely capable of better than he showed in one heavy-ground start last backend and market confidence would make him interesting. Otherwise, PRINCE OF INDIA about sets the standard, ahead of the exposed pair Political Power and Nad Alshiba Rain, in an ordinary-looking novice.
18:00 Arizona Rock
The three newcomers all have interesting pedigrees but ARIZONA ROCK sets a fair form standard, having finished fourth in a truly run and quite competitive C&D contest nine days ago, and is selected to put his experience to good use. The Sweet Escape is feared most.

18:30 Ash Wednesday
Both Capuchinero and Triggered are more favourably treated now and shouldn’t be far away after their good C&D runs last month. However, this can lie between South Dakota Sioux and ASH WEDNESDAY, with the latter preferred on the return to his best trip. Lequinto is also worth a look back at 7f.
19:00 Alafdhal
There is little doubt that low-mileage 4yo Francisco has the raw ability to win off his current mark if/when he gets things right at the start but, until then, he remains a risky option.
This might go to ALAFDHAL, who needs to settle better than he did last time but has remained in pretty good form since his 5f course win off 1lb lower in January. Smasher and Asadjumeirah should also be in the shake-up.
19:30 Infantry Officer
This is a very tricky puzzle to solve, given that none of the runners have shown any compelling form and that most are completely unexposed over this trip.
The tentative selection is Michael Bell’s well-bred handicap debutant INFANTRY OFFICER, who showed very little over 6f/7f as a 2yo but could be a completely different proposition over middle distances this year. Rossa Ryan is an interesting booking for Top Of Pleinmont, while the betting market is sure to provide further clues.
20:00 King Of The Dance
The switch to classified level may enable KING OF THE DANCE to record a belated first success since joining his current stable. In-form fillies Brinton (second choice) and Quick Away are solid dangers, while Danehill Star has possibilities in the retained cheekpieces.
20:30 Ocean Odyssey
It’s reasonable to expect Fifty Sent and Alice’s Impact (preferred in that order) to run well again but this might go to OCEAN ODYSSEY, who drops in grade after making the frame in a Lingfield handicap on his stable debut six weeks ago.
