All good things must come to an end, and Friday sees the curtain falling on this year’s Cheltenham Festival. Champion amateur jockey Patrick Mullins joins us once more to give us his opinion on the final day’s racing.
You can check out Paddy’s full list of options across all markets on Cheltenham betting as the action gets underway.
Patrick Mullins’ Cheltenham Day Four tips
13:20 Lulamba
14:00 Ethical Diamond
14:40 Dinoblue
15:20 Wingmen
16:00 Galopin Des Champs
16:40 Angels Dawn
17:20 Kopeck De Mee

13:20 Lulamba
We have 11 runners in the Triumph Hurdle, and Paul Townend has opted for Lady Vega Allen. It looks to me like the English runners are stronger than the Irish ones this year and LULAMBA fits the bill as the likely winner.
I prefer the profile of an ex-French jumps horse rather than an ex-Flat horse, East India Dock, who has been on the go all season.
14:00 Ethical Diamond
Just 16 runners in the County Hurdle, which is unusual where Kargese has a nice mark, and Paul Townend has opted to ride her.
She can be quite keen and could prove tricky in a race like this, and while the handicapper hasn’t missed ETHICAL DIAMOND, I’m happy to be riding him. He likes dry ground, has plenty of speed, and reminds me of last year’s winner, Absurde, who also returns to defend his crown.
14:40 Dinoblue
It’s unoriginal, but DINOBLUE can make it third time lucky at the Cheltenham Festival. She was second in the Grand Annual here in March but her jumping let her down that day and was also second last year when the soft ground counted against her. The 2m 4f trip will be less of an issue on better ground, and she has the best form going into the race.
15:20 Wingmen
A big field of unexposed novices over 3m which usually goes to a battle-hardened runner. WINGMEN has shown his toughness in other races and the step up in trip can bring out the best in him.
16:00 Galopin Des Champs
The two-time champ GALOPIN DES CHAMPS bids for immortality as he tries to win his third Gold Cup. We couldn’t be happier with him, but it’s not a gimme.
Banbridge is a King George winner this season, and the ground will suit him. Inowthewayurthinkin is improving, and I wouldn’t rule out Monty’s Star either. I hope Galopin des Champs can create a little bit of history.
16:40 Angels Dawn
A big field for the Hunter Chase. It’s On The Line has been beaten here twice, and the Festival is not normally a place for third-time lucky.
I like ANGELS DAWN who won here two years ago and was running very well when she fell at the second last in the Kim Muir 12 months ago. She comes here on the back of two wins, has course form, is dropping in grade, and should be very hard to beat.
17:20 Kopeck De Mee
Willie Mullins has chosen this contest for KOPECK DE MEE. He was entered in the three big handicaps and qualified as he’s had five runs in France.
Aidan Kelly rides, and he won this race aboard Iroko in 2023. It won’t be easy, but he could be well handicapped and I hope he can close out the meeting on a successful note for us.
