Day Three of the 2025 Cheltenham Festival is here and Paddy’s crack team of top tipsters are showing no signs of letting up.
We’ve passed the half-way mark and one of the best in the business, mighty Mick Fitzgerald, is here to give us his tips on Thursday as we gear up for the day’s main event, the world famous Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle.
You can also check out Paddy’s complete list of options across all markets for Cheltenham betting as we continue with the racing action. But now, let’s get Mick’s tips for Thursday at Prestbury Park.
Mick Fitzgerald’s Cheltenham Day Three tips
13:20 Sixandahalf
14:00 Asian Master
14:40 Jeriko Du Reponet
15:20 Fact To File
16:00 The Wallpark (each-way)
16:40 Masaccio (each-way)
17:20 Midnight Our Fred

13:20 Sixandahalf
There’s been a few surprises in this race but Gavin Cromwell’s mare looks a solid option. She won’t mind any more rain that falls as she has form on it. She stays really well over the 2m trip and Sixandahalf looks the one to beat.
14:00 Asian Master
Willie Mullins has yet to have a Festival winner in the handicap chases but I’m sticking with Asian Master in the novices’ chase. He has some smart form in graded races and doesn’t look too badly handicapped on those runs.
14:40 Jeriko Du Reponet
Putting the cheekpieces on Jeriko Du Reponet is a very good idea and his handicap mark of 135 is workable. He went into a lot of people’s notebooks when third in a qualifier at Exeter. My one worry is that he is a little bit ‘timid’ at his jumps but the cheekpieces might just help him counter that.
15:20 Fact To File
The ground could be a huge factor in the Ryanair Chase. There’s not much rain forecast so we could see the ground starting to dry out considerably as we enter day three. If it was softer last year’s winner Protektorat would be a big player, but drying ground won’t help his cause. There’s no getting away from Fact To File who will be hard to beat.
16:00 The Wallpark (each-way)
The Paddy Power Stayers Hurdle is the feature contest of the day but there doesn’t look to be a huge amount of pace in the race. Gowel Road may take them along but will he go quick enough? It could be a funny race pace wise and for that reason I’ll go for The Wallpark (each-way) as you know he’ll be coming home hard over this 3m trip. There’s a slight doubt as to whether Lucky Place really stays 3m so they slower they go, the better his chance.
16:40 Masaccio (each-way)
The 2m 4f Handicap Plate is a competitive contest and tends to suit horses who have run at Cheltenham before. Masaccio looks a solid each-way play based on his third to Jagwar over course and distance in January. His owner Max McNeill would love to have his first winner at the Festival and Alan King’s runner can go close to achieving that.
17:20 Midnight Our Fred
The Kim Muir over 3m 2f ends the day and all the jockeys are amateur riders. Midnight Our Fred was second in the Paddy Power Chase at Christmas when last seen and that’s a nice bit of form to bring into this contest. He’s only 4lb higher now and is definitely a player.
