16:30 Buraback

The Timeform pace prediction for this opening handicap is ‘strong’ which should suit confirmed hold-up horse BURABACK, a ‘Horse In Focus’ who looked unlucky not to add to his tally here last week; he can make amends from the same mark with Luke Morris taking over in the saddle.

Stablemate Gustav Graves hasn’t had much luck with the draw again but must have another win in him close to hand given his recent efforts.

Beaumadier is another to consider for an in-form yard, while any support for the well-handicapped Pop Dancer would look significant.

17:00 City Escape

Timeform ‘Hot Trainer’ Mark Loughnane has had his horses in good form of late, including CITY ESCAPE who has been in resurgent form, landing back-to-back C&D handicaps in recent weeks.

Escaping a penalty for the latest of them eight days ago, she looks a serious player in her bid to complete the hat-trick. Fellow C&D winners Enzos Angel and My Brother Mike are fellow in-form sorts and feared more than Hawa Jameirah who may find this trip on the short side.

17:30 Ay Gee Ell

Relatively cheap purchase AY GEE ELL had clearly learnt/matured plenty from debut on turf seven months earlier when just failing here four weeks ago.

He caught the eye of the Timeform race reporters with that 16/1 effort and is fancied to go one place better with the return to 6f sure to suit.

Mcintosh is from a fine family (granddam won the Cheveley Park) and made an encouraging start when second at Chelmsford and is the obvious threat, more so than the exposed Mr Cool.

Market support for newcomers – notably Recency Bias, whose sales price doubled as a yearling – should be noted.

18:00 Minnesota Lad

Former Richard Fahey inmate MINNESOTA LAD wasn’t at his best on his latest start at Southwell in January.

Yet, he’d run well when chasing home a subsequent winner over C&D previously and could just be worth chancing to bounce back in what rates a wide-open contest.

Recent C&D runner-up Siobhanbrogan, the consistent Hierarchy and the hat-trick seeking Whenthedealinsdone (who is just 2 lb higher here) are just a trio of others making the shortlist, along with Muscika who would be a major player if able to get his own way out in front.

18:30 Manton Road

One of the success stories of the winter, hold-up performer MANTON ROAD is rapidly on the up now he’s keeping his quirks in check and – despite a lack of pace in the contest – can complete the hat-trick under a penalty.

Harryella proved a different proposition when making a winning handicap bow at Chelmsford in December and from just a 4 lb higher mark is a clear next best with further progress on the cards.

Bay Of Dreams and Irishiko should both improve now handicapping up in trip and the market should help guide to their chance today.

19:00 Seas of Elzaam

Not a race that will take much winning and SEAS OF ELZAAM is given another chance in the hope he’ll prove stronger in the finish than he did here last time.

His (relative) class could be brought to the fore if Hello Zabeel, Miss Billie and Outreach set an even tempo as predicted by Timeform.

The penalised Lynwood Lad, whose wins have all come over shorter but who stays this 7f trip, is the obvious danger bidding to follow up last week’s victory.

19:30 Rogue Thunder

Course regular ROGUE THUNDER let favourite backers down over 6f here last time but is given another chance back at 7f with Billy Loughnane – on for one of the horse’s two wins – retaking the reins.

The consistent Star of Atlantis may also benefit from the return to 7f and is second choice ahead of Hawajes, whose slow starts make him a risky betting proposition but who has the talent to feature if on his best behaviour.

The return to Wolverhampton should suit course winners Grecian God and May Remain, and they look the pick of the rest.

20:00 Shades Of May

Not a race to get carried away in, but SHADES OF MAY has fewer convictions than the rest of these and shapes as if this return to 7f for only a second time may help.

Last month’s C&D scorer Coconut Bay, a straightforward ride who should be close to the pace throughout, is next on the list ahead of Wrath of Hector, who the return to this venue should suit.

Any market support for Big Narstie, who tries the cheekpieces/tongue tie combo and is having his first start for Tony Carroll, should be noted.

20:30 Ceira G

The unexposed filly CEIRA G confirmed the promise of her stable debut effort when opening her account at Chelmsford (7f) 26 days ago and, appealing as the type to do better still, she could be up to defying a 3 lb rise in the weights with Alice Bond taking the ride once more.

C&D winner Kaleidoscope Eyes arrives in good form and is feared, while cheekpieces are tried on Boundless Poet who surely has plenty more to offer at some point.

Handicap-debutant Adversary and Triple Charged are others worth a second look, especially if the betting speaks in their favour.
