Langer Dan wins the Coral Cup at Cheltenham

The Coral Cup is one of the big handicap races at the Cheltenham Festival.

Langer Dan became the first ever dual winner of the Coral Cup when scooting to victory in last year’s renewal, but the handicapper has not relented this time so the Dan Skelton-trained horse is not back for the hat-trick attempt.

The Skelton team instead pin their hopes on the lightly-raced Be Aware… but can he follow in the hoofsteps of his famous stablemate.

Anna Bunina and Vischio have both had more than 21 outings over the smaller obstacles.

Maxxum, Sandor Clegane, Jimmy Du Seuil, Staffordshire Knot, Bunting, Be Aware and Beat The Bat are the next that can be removed from the shortlist.
