13:42 – Jupiter Des Mottes
An interesting small-field novice contested by three previous winners. JUPITER DES MOTTES again looked a good prospect when making a successful hurdling debut at Newcastle in January and is taken to defy a penalty en route to better things.
Stablemate King of Answers forged clear in good style at the same venue last month and has to be feared with the performance supported by the clock, and it’s also worth noting that the yard has won the last two renewals of this race with some classy sorts.
Crest of Fortune, who won on his hurdling bow at Ffos Las, is the other key player on form despite being turned over at short odds on his most recent start, while Jehol De Thaix has been given more time between his races since disappointing at Ayr and looks of interest now stepped up in trip.
14:17 – Heads Or Harps
Timeform ‘Horse In Focus’ HEADS OR HARPS again shaped with abundant promise when runner-up at Wetherby 10 days ago, tanking through the race before losing vital momentum when meeting the last wrong and only beaten by a similarly well-handicapped rival.
He’s very much of interest dropped in trip and can gain deserved compensation here. Tommy Combats, who followed up his Hexham win with a good second here in January, and Dance Thief, who won on this card last year and is unexposed over fences (but his yard is having a poor season), may pose the lead threats with Chapel Green looking high enough in the weights now.
Cheekpieces are an interesting addition for Findthetime, but they need to spark a major revival.
14:50 – Ruby Island
Course-winner RUBY ISLAND is fairly handicapped on the best of her form, and makes most appeal with this longer trip expected to suit this good-topped mare who caught the eye of the Timeform race reporters last time out.
She’ll be best suited if this is a truly-run race, as will Fox’s Fancy, stepping back in distance following a highly encouraging handicap debut at the end of October.
The improving Lavida Adiva could be a threat to all if she continues her current upward trajectory, for all she looked a little ungainly when trying to close last time.
Mellificent was having her season built around a three-mile listed race at Doncaster and may find this all happening a little quickly on her belated return (for all she looks fairly handicapped).

15:25 – Medieval Gold
Cases can be made for most of the septet. But the suggestion is joint bottom-weight MEDIEVAL GOLD, who matched his previous exploits over hurdles, switched to a handicap when third on return at Haydock in December.
Micky Hammond’s five-year-old remains unexposed in this discipline.
Irish raider Apologise is thriving at present, so despite a hefty rise in the weights he heads up the dangers in search of an impressive four-timer, with the hat-trick-seeking top-weight Bashful and Freddy Robinson – who has been given a longer break than when disappointing at Musselburgh – taken to fight out minor honours.
16:00 – Cave Court
Irish raider CAVE COURT has thrived over hurdles this winter and can continue the good work back over fences (at least as good in this sphere) with this quicker ground no issue, either.
Arctic Row has an excellent record around here and is feared most ahead of the in-form fellow course winner Ned Tanner.
Dare To Shout doesn’t look particularly well-treated at present but is respected for his undoubted consistency.
At the same time, Mr Saxobeat could get an easy time on the lead and should appreciate the drop in grade today having contested a strong listed 0-150 handicap at Leopardstown last time out.
16:35 – Glory Hights
Not as competitive as the numbers suggest and GLORY HIGHTS, who impressed when winning at Carlisle on his return in November, is taken to resume winning ways and edge out in-form maidens Miami Steve and Ninetofive.
Course-scorer Boolamore Classic is another to consider along with the lightly-raced Didntgotwenty, while cheekpieces may help Monsieur Le Fizz after he ran in snatches when far from disgraced at Market Rasen in January.
Master Bricklayer is building up a good portfolio of placed efforts at the track and looks the pick of the remainder.
17:10 – The Hatchet
Lucinda Russell won this with a point-to-point recruit last year, so £105,000 purchase THE HATCHET, who is from a very good Flat family (dam a granddaughter of 1992 Oaks runner-up All At Sea) is the suggestion before any market clues are known.
Wanderinginthedark, whose dam won a bumper on debut, and Daly Boy, who is from a good French family, are other interesting Rules newcomers.
Geordie Mackem should figure on the back of two placed efforts this winter though that form doesn’t look insurmountable.
