13:40 – Tara Iti
TARA ITI hasn’t been seen on the Flat for well over three years but he’s been placed in his last six runs over hurdles this winter for Gary & Josh Moore and James Owen has such a good record with new recruits that it might still be worth siding with him. Green Team hasn’t won for a long time but the form of his last race when second at Wolverhampton is working out well and he looks a main danger along with Daaris and Cerulean Summer who also arrive in form.
14:12 – Big Sip
This maiden may develop into a straight fight between promising pair BIG SIP and I’ll Give It A Go, with preference for Andrew Balding’s charge. Big Sip was highly tried on his two starts on turf last year, including in a valuable contest at York on his final outing, but showed enough on his two all-weather starts at Kempton, when runner-up both times, that he has a race of this nature in him. I’ll Give It A Go was second on her debut at Southwell last month and should improve.
14:42 – Lightening Mann
The returning LIGHTENING MANN gets the vote with the Jack Channon stable among the winners. He shaped as though he’ll appreciate the step up to a mile in a couple of starts at Salisbury and Doncaster last summer. This is a rather belated debut for Monty Beau but Hugo Palmer’s four-year-old would rate a danger if the betting suggests he’s fancied. Lunanova, third on her debut over seven furlongs here in December completes the shortlist.
15:12 – Rosenpur
ROSENPUR had a ready excuse when poorly drawn at Wolverhampton last time but he had been thriving before that with a couple of wins at the same track over five furlongs. He can land a third win of 2025 for Jennie Candlish, with Warren Fentiman taking a useful 7 lb off. Last month’s course-and-distance scorer Watermelon Sugar is 6 lb higher now but should remain competitive and is feared most.

15:42 – Rebels Gamble
REBEL’S GAMBLE has come a long way in a short time for Karl Burke, having only made his debut at the beginning of January, and after a useful effort in defeat in a handicap at Southwell last time, he can take the step up to listed level in his stride now tackling seven furlongs for the first time. Bountiful will be a danger if replicating the form of her fourth in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket when last seen in July. Rajeko looks best of the rest after his second in a valuable event in Qatar last month.
16:12 – Kitaro Kich
George Baker’s top weight KITARO KICH arrives at the top of his game and is taken to secure his third victory of the year. Successful at Wolverhampton and Chelmsford in recent months, he looks well in under a 5 lb penalty for that latter success. Runaround Sioux arrives on the back of a couple of solid placed efforts and looks one of the chief threats, along with Split Elevens, a triple course-and-distance winner who was successful at Kempton last time.
16:42 – Unavailable
Preference is for Chelsea Banham’s pacey UNAVAILABLE who has bagged the plum draw against the rail in this five-furlong dash and will benefit from the reapplication of a tongue strap which she wore for the last of her three course wins last year. At the other end of the handicap, Ecclesiastical was only beaten a head at Wolverhampton last time and needs taking seriously off the same mark, while Coolagh Magic is also feared after two course-and-distance wins last month.
17:17 – All Cost
Martin Dunne’s ALL COST only narrowly failed to justify strong support at Kempton last month when beaten a short head by Take The Boat who has gone in again since. That was All Cost’s handicap debut, so he’s entitled to come on for the experience and he gets the nod in the finale. Sonic Pioneer and Backer Bilk were separated by just a length at Wolverhampton last time and look the obvious dangers, with the former turning out under a penalty here.
