16:22 One Horse Town
Nobleman showed clear promise when runner-up in a tactical race at Southwell and he’s respected back on Polytrack. La Trinite could get involved if she can build on her encouraging debut run in January, while there are some newcomers who need a close look including Rommie The Miracle and Roman Landings.
However, it is hard to get away from ONE HORSE TOWN, who sets a fair standard on his strong-finishing third here last week and is open to more progress over this longer trip.
16:55 Toughly
David Evans’ new recruit Early Release (second choice) shaped well when a fast-finishing third at Lingfield last time, but preference is for Ollie Sangster’s TOUGHLY, who overcame greenness to go in at Southwell and looks to have a fair bit more to offer on her first go in handicaps. Lingfield scorer The Thames Lady and the improving Handle With Care can both have a say too in an intriguing contest.
17:30 Montrachet Girl
Chelmsford maiden scorer Blue Eclipse seems sure to be on the premises, while fellow handicap debutante Too Sweet also enters calculations along with the returning Maids Head. However, MONTRACHET GIRL has taken her form up a level since joining Roger Varian and can make light of a 3lb rise for her stylish Southwell nursery victory.

18:00 Invincible Melody
This is wide open but Ralph Beckett’s INVINCIBLE MELODY took a step forward on his handicap debut when runner-up at Wolverhampton, and can go one better now with more progress on the cards. Comfortable Lingfield scorer Lady Manzor heads the list of dangers, although fellow handicap newcomers Naughty Eyes and Political Power need factoring in, too. Lingfield maiden victor This Farh completes the shortlist.
18:30 City Cyclone
Last-time-out Lingfield winner Ernie’s Valentine is respected on his stable debut, but preference is for CITY CYCLONE, who won two in a row at Wolverhampton in January and things have not gone his way back at 6f in his last two starts.
He still looks on a workable mark and is an interesting contender back at his optimum trip. The other one on the shortlist is Lessay, who has a solid record for his current yard and could make a serious impact if he can find some extra spark.
19:00 Port Road
Several have possibilities but the vote goes to the lightly raced 4yo PORT ROAD, who didn’t get any luck over C&D last time and could be a big factor if he can build on that eyecatching effort.
The generally reliable Enpassant is feared most ahead Ben Y Bryn, who went close at Southwell last month and is still unexposed after only six starts. Vince Lombardi could make a bold bid on his stable debut, while another to consider is Tea Sea who has had a highly productive time this winter.
19:30 Patchs Bond
Dual course winner Mr Baloo scored at Southwell 11 days ago and remains feasibly treated, but slight preference is for the unexposed 4yo PATCHS BOND, who went very close on his handicap debut at Lingfield and is open to more progress on this drop back in trip. Most of the others have something to prove, but More Than A Feelin had an excuse in a tactical race over C&D last time and has possibilities if this sets up for her closing style.
20:00 Shallow (NAP)
Top of the list is SHALLOW (NAP), who made it 4-7 when completing a C&D double two weeks ago and this tough front-runner could continue on the upgrade.
Rebel Empire, who has form figures of 12161 since a tongue-tie has been applied, is feared most ahead of Supreme King, who was only narrowly denied by the selection last time. Another to consider is Ultramarine, who has run plenty of good races since his last win in September and should get a good pace back at this trip.
20:30 Almoshher
Preference is for the unexposed ALMOSHHER, who had a win and near-miss in his two novice events and is open to more progress off what looks a fair mark on handicap debut.
Recent Southwell runner-up Victory Shout is feared most, although Buxted Too got back in the groove with a smooth win over C&D last time and is a big player if he can back that up. The other one on the shortlist Gaassee, who went very close here on his penultimate run and has claims if he can recapture that form.
