Market Rasen stages the afternoon’s only Jumps fixture and Wellington Arch bids to make it three from four over timber in the Class 4 Join Racing TV Now Novices’ Hurdle (14:35). Elsewhere on the card, Denemethy attempts to bag a second victory over C&D in the Class 4 Visit racingtv.com Handicap Chase (16:40).

Vaguely Royal reverts to the Flat after a spell over hurdles and has to concede shedloads of weight to three rivals in the Class 3 Handicap (18:30) at Southwell. There is also all-weather action at Newcastle where Stardrop – a half brother to Inspiral – makes his racecourse debut in the Class 5 Novice Stakes (14:52).
