Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what an NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…

15:00 Taunton – Heros (Daily Express)
Good Friday Fairy looked in rude health at Wincanton 12 days ago and is not opposed lightly, but dual course winner HEROS is on a good mark and gets the nod in the hope he’s back in peak form for this third run of the season. Gyenyame is well handicapped on 2023 hurdling form, but his record over fences is unconvincing, and he needs to be perked up by the first-time blinkers.
15:20 Newcastle – Castan (The Times)
This is quite a competitive affair, but the strong temptation is to side with CASTAN, who is 2-2 since wearing cheekpieces and may well keep up the good work with the headgear retained. Oriental Prince, who has done very well since wearing a hood, is second choice ahead of Maharajas Express who could have more to offer for his new yard. Dark Kestrel looks solid back in this grade, and General Assembly looks interesting back at the minimum distance.
15:25 Clonmel – Sceptred Isle (The Irish Sun)
Dual Flat winner SCEPTRED ISLE was in good form on the level last year but was a beaten favourite on her return to this sphere at Tipperary in November; would have finished closer without a bad mistake at the last though and ground might be okay for her here.
15:45 Ludlow – Looking As You Are (Daily Record)
Komedy Kicks arrives on a hat-trick, and this new trip may be within range, but she has that to prove. LOOKING AS YOU ARE made it 2-2 at Ludlow when winning over 2m5f last time, and having kept on well over 3m at Kempton two starts ago, this step back up in trip could prompt further improvement. Gaye Legacy is second choice on the back of her encouraging comeback run in a higher grade at Sandown.
