Star Of Jupiter is unexposed and still looked to be learning his craft when springing a 50-1 surprise in a C&D classified event two weeks ago. He’s feared, as is Port Noir, who has had a wind op since last time, but MY BROTHER MIKE is preferred.
He ran well when a close fifth here two weeks ago and that form has received a number of boosts since. Rossa Ryan retains the ride and a 1lb drop in the weights is a bonus.
17:30 – Harlington (NAP)
Consistent HARLINGTON (nap) holds particularly solid claims and is taken to regain the winning thread. Olympic Quest (second choice) looks a likely player on her reappearance, while City Escape again has place possibilities and Fazen could show improvement.
18:00 – Arts Of War
With doubts over most of her rivals, interesting handicap debutante ARTS OF WAR is preferred even though she’s been absent for over a year. Next Trick, who remains an unexposed sort on AW and for her new yard, is second choice ahead of Hello Miss Lady, who lacks consistency but ran well here in December.
18:30 – Mayday Mayday
Cemlyn bumped into one on her handicap debut at Southwell ten days ago and she’s a strong contender back in novice company.
Star Zia and Havana Joy have shown fair ability already and can go well but MAYDAY MAYDAY might be able to improve past them.
She was too green to do herself justice on her debut here 24 days ago, but she was getting the hang of things when hampered in the final furlong and it’s notable that she was sent off favourite on that occasion.
19:00 – Shamardia
This is likely to be well run and that could see Autumn Angel and Under Curfew feature prominently. Sisters In The Sky is high on the list, with Rossa Ryan retaining the ride, but perhaps the addition of cheekpieces could see SHAMARDIA bounce back to her best.
She’s 1lb lower than when winning over C&D last September and could get a nice tow into this from stall 3.
19:30 – Night Arc
Pessoa, Just Typical and Charlatan (second choice) all have sound form claims, while Inexplicable can go well back under his optimum conditions.
NIGHT ARC‘s form figures are uninspiring but he’s hinted that he retains ability on a few occasions since joining this yard, notably so when keeping on from a hopeless position at Kempton last time.
He drops into a Class 6 today and the booking of Rossa Ryan looks a strong indicator that he may be ready to exploit his much-reduced mark.
20:00 – Aiming High
Back up in distance, AIMING HIGH could well build on her latest effort and take advantage of a handy mark. Star Time (second choice) is interesting returned to this course, while Sense Of Worth and Init Together are solid contenders on 2025 form.
20:30 – Second Collection
A trappy event in which SECOND COLLECTION is taken to bounce back from a modest run in handicap company two weeks ago. She’s better than she showed there and can exploit a handy draw.
Admirable Lad and Maveric’s Magic are solid alternatives, while Himawari and Tees Harriet aren’t out of it despite modest form figures.
