13:30 Whimsy

This looks like a gilt-edged opportunity for WHIMSY to get off the mark. She sets a solid standard; she has handled heavy ground in the past, and a repeat of her Galway or Cheltenham efforts should suffice. Adela Icon looks the main danger. The hurdling debutant Asisaid should handle the ground, and the well-bred Adaliz is a potential improver.

14:00 Come On The Lads

Runcok is interesting on his hurdles debut for Willie Mullins, but he doesn’t look bulletproof, and he might be worth taking on. Fortunate Lighting could go well if fit after an absence, and Free Flow and Lambay Island are potential improvers, but a chance is taken on COME ON THE LADS. A three-time winner on the Flat, including on heavy, he shaped with promise over C&D last month and he might not need to improve much more to figure here.

14:35 Familiar Dreams

The fact that Paul Townend prefers the long-absent Toad Hall of the Mullins duo is interesting, but it is hard to look past the talented bumper performer FAMILIAR DREAMS. She didn’t jump brilliantly when third here on her hurdles bow last month, but she should have learned plenty from that, and the form has since been boosted.

Pookie Holler is interesting with owner David Maxwell riding for the first time, and he could prove to be the biggest danger if handling the ground.

15:05 Affinity Rock

The 100 rated Milanaway will handle the ground and sets the standard but it is hardly an insurmountable one. The Gordon Elliott debutante Creadan Grace would be of interest if strong in the betting but in the hope that she handles the conditions a chance is taken on the point-to-point winner AFFINITY ROCK who may be suited by the step up in trip after running a decent race on her hurdles debut at Naas. Mayo Shirocco completes the shortlist.

15:35 Rokathir

There was some market interest in ROKATHIR in advance of Friday’s postponed fixture, and he may take advantage of his initial mark. He was in the process of running well when falling on his chase debut and may have improved enough to exploit a weight concession from fellow handicap newcomer Heroes Rise and Lucky Viv, raised 7lb for her win over a slightly shorter trip here last time.

16:10 Coffeys Forge (NAP)

Though soundly beaten in second on the most recent of two starts for Gordon Elliott, COFFEYS FORGE (NAP) has shown enough to suggest he can win a race of this standard.

A big danger is Blue Reed, who held a huge lead for much of the way on his last run and was reeled in only by the in-form Duffys Hodey. Duce Bigalow went close in a point and is a possible dark horse in his first handicap. The well-exposed Lariat could also feature.

16:43 Butchers Bill

An opening mark of 100 gives BUTCHERS BILL a realistic chance of making a winning start in handicap company. Likely dangers are One And Only who was in good form at Cork in December, and True Destiny, also in fine shape before a break. Mighty Soldier is another possibility.

4/1
Butchers Bill Win or Each Way

17:18 Santo Sospir

Gordon Elliott runs two, both in well-known colours. The early market for this race prior to postpone implied a preference for SANTO SOSPIR over Lord Tobin but there may not be much between them with Josh Williamson’s claim an asset for the Gigginstown runner. The Wager may also get in on the act.

4/1
Santo Sospir Win or Each Way
