Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.

Don’t know what an NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…

13:15 Kempton – Punctuation (Telegraph)

Further improvement from the lightly raced pair Gold For Alec (who’s pretty much proved his stamina) and Saint Anapolino (who hasn’t) could provide the winner but PUNCTUATION, who scored over 2m4f back in 2022, may well prove potent on his return to this sort of trip. His last two wins for Fergal O’Brien came in 2m Flat races, suggesting plenty of stamina, and last month’s first run for Nicky Henderson was reasonably encouraging. Gold For Alec is second on the list.

14:10 Newcastle – Collectors Item (Daily Mirror)

This looks highly competitive but the one who shouts out that he will be well suited by this sort of extreme distance, and has not yet tried it, is COLLECTORS ITEM. He shouts it loudly enough to earn the vote despite carrying top weight. O’Connell, Egbert, History Of Fashion and Anglers Crag are the next four in the weights and arguably the chief dangers, with O’Connell bidding to achieve what Anglers Crag did in this race last year by completing a four-timer. It’s Anglers Crag who is feared most, though, on the assumption that he needed the race when his challenge petered out in the Edinburgh National last time. The Lingfield one-two Sporting Ace and Passing Well may be best of the remainder.

16:10 Kempton – Keep Running (The Guardian)

The front-runner KEEP RUNNING impressed when completing a double at Ffos Las last month, despite jumping to the right at that left-handed track, and he can land a hat-trick now he’s going back right-handed. The unexposed Ideal Des Bordes could be a big danger, however, having shown strong form on his first two chase starts. Blow Your Wad is 3-3 here and could go well despite the absence, while Solo also likes it here.

16:25 Southwell – Feel The Need (Racing Post)

Justcallmepete and Giorgio M should be in the thick of the action once more but FEEL THE NEED is preferred. His latest run was excusable and he could find this being run to suit. Golden Strike and Federal Envoy still have low mileage, while market support for the interesting Lir Speciale would look significant.
