17:00 – Never Shout Never
Sporting Hero ran a cracker when winning last time out but I’m against him with Never Shout Never. He was second to the reopposing Jered Maddox over course and distance a couple of weeks ago. He kept on well considering he was wide on the track. He’s got solid form and he’s at the bottom of the weights. If he doesn’t get too much pace pressure, he’s worth siding with.
17:30 – Maharajjah
Henry de Bromhead’s Quatrain has decent form but I’m not concerned about her over the 7f trip so I’m with Maharajjah. His two all-weather runs have been cracking efforts. He looked raw in January when finishing third and he followed that up with a decent fourth in a maiden earlier this month. He has cheekpieces on for the first time and Colin Keane retains the ride. He’s a work-in-progress and all of his siblings have won on the all-weather and over a similar distance to Friday night.
18:00 – Thompson Gunner
I’m taking a chance on Thompson Gunner. I’m hoping there’s a strong gallop as he’s got a really interesting profile. He’s coming back off a break after running in October and that should suit him. Colin Keane, who rode a winner for the Cian Hughes stable last week, takes the ride and he’s always an eye-catching booking. A repeat of his two runs at Dundalk will make him hard to beat.
18:30 – California Dreamer
California Dreamer is highly tried and she has the best form in the race. She placed twice at Group level last season and she should win. She was second on her course debut last year and the Adrian Murray yard are in decent form. She’s got a good draw in stall five and her stablemate Alumni Lia could be a pacesetter.
19:00 – I Am Superman (each-way)
In a wide open race, I’m siding with I Am Superman as an each-way shout. He’s a course and distance winner and he’s got a sensational record fresh. He ran a cracker behind the revitalised Tough Talk on his last start at Dundalk and Colin Keane takes the ride. There will be a strong gallop and that’ll suit him. He’s a value each-way play.
19:30 – Doctor Grace (NAP)
Signor Ferrari is on for a hat-trick and he’s got every chance of getting the job done but I’m keen on Doctor Grace. She makes her debut for the Adrian McGuinness stable and shaped well when fifth behind Ranko Express over course and distance last time when trained by the now retired Mick Halford and Tracey Collins. She tired late on that day and looks a bit of value to take on Ranko Express and Signor Ferrari in this apprentice handicap.
20:00 – Just Before
Adrian Murray has three of the five runners in this contest but I’m with Just Before. She has to reverse the form with Jaliyah but that was only her second start. She finished well to finish fifth and she ran well at Cork last October. On totally contrasting ground, she stayed on strongly to win a maiden at Leopardstown. She’s making her polytrack debut but she’s by Justify, so her pedigree suggests it’ll suit her. She’ll be ready to go.
20:30 – Pavilion End
Pavilion End will want a good gallop and he might just have more speed than his rivals. He was a sharp winner on his debut over course and distance and he followed that up by finishing second a couple of weeks ago. He’s back down in trip and the 1m 4f distance should suit him.
