14:15 – Calimystic

CALIMYSTIC made a promising start to his hurdle career for Nicky Henderson when overcoming late mistakes to take second behind George’s Lad under a hands-and-heels ride over this course and distance last month.

In what will likely develop into a straight fight between the pair, he is narrowly preferred to Dan Skelton’s Queens Wish, who jumped accurately and made most of the running when making a successful debut over hurdles at Newcastle.

14:50 – God’s Own Getaway

Each of GOD’S OWN GETAWAY‘s previous victories for Dan Skelton have come over longer trips, including at Market Rasen early this season.

Yet, the way he travels suggests he’s worth a crack at this shorter distance and he could be worth siding with from a reduced mark on the back of wind surgery.

Veteran Gallic Geordie and Tommy Cullen, who was runner-up over course and distance in December and is a course winner over hurdles, are the dangers.

15:20 – Farmer Jimmy

Mark Walford’s FARMER JIMMY is actually able to run off a 2 lb lower mark than when successful in a conditional jockeys’ race at Wetherby last week.

So his claims are obvious, particularly as the step up to three miles promises to suit him even better.

There’s still a feeling that David Pipe’s Skin Full, back over hurdles here and at the foot of the weights, could have more to offer and he’s second choice ahead of the consistent Glory Hights.

15:58 – Touchwoodexpress

Nigel Twiston-Davies has given TOUCHWOODEXPRESS a short break since his Taunton spill over Christmas and, less exposed than most, he could well be the one to side with to add to his win at Huntingdon on his chasing debut.

Veteran Super Citizen is proving consistent and he’s a threat, as is Dusautior, who is equipped with blinkers for the first time.

Jamesieconn is another to note now handicapping over fences and following wind surgery.

16:33 – Gwennie May Star

Dan Skelton’s GWENNIE MAY STAR should have more to offer after showing plenty of improvement to get off the mark at Newcastle last time and is taken to defy an 8 lb rise in the weights and follow up that success.

The consistent Diamond Koda is yet to win but has been placed in all his completed starts and is second choice ahead of the unexposed Benmore who makes his handicap debut after being placed in both his runs over hurdles.

17:03 – Pilgrims King

Peter & Michael Bowen’s course winner PILGRIMS KING almost certainly benefited from the reluctance of the runner-up when opening his account for the season at Sedgefield a fortnight ago.

However, he also deserved credit for overcoming a slipping saddle on that occasion and he’s given the tentative vote to come out on top again. Coolmoyne, who returns from wind surgery and Catterick winner Valence d’Aumont are others to consider.
