It’s difficult to see past Cheltenham entrant BUTCH, a smart hurdler who passed his first test over fences with ease. Shomen Uchi looked promising when last seen in action but this is a belated return and it could be Lunar Discovery who offers most resistance to the selection.
14:50 Carlisle – Tanganyika (Daily Mail)
Stamina looked a strong suit for TANGANYIKA (nap) when he won at Market Rasen a fortnight ago and today’s stiffer track should prove ideal. Raceview Road finished second over C&D in November in a race that worked out extremely well and he may be the main danger ahead of the progressive 6yo Fortunate Man and the rejuvenated 11yo The Wolf.
15:05 Southwell – Beau Quali (Daily Star)
Consistent BEAU QUALI won at Newcastle with a clear round and he is taken to gain compensation. Wolf Moon is feared most on bare form, ahead of Buckna and Absolutely Doyen.
16:15 Southwell – Ocean Legacy (The Star)
Asa holds a leading chance provided her recent chase form is transferred back to hurdles. Otherwise, OCEAN LEGACY warrants respect on the back of her Sedgefield success in the blinkers, while Our Pink Lady (second choice) has possibilities returning to Southwell and a few others are interesting on one count or another.
