13:03 – Diesel Line
DIESEL LINE advanced his form when finishing runner-up in a big-field handicap at Taunton last time, finally shaping like he’s ready to build on his early form in novice events, and with that form having been well-advertised since he looks the way to go from a 2 lb higher mark.
Moor End is feared most on the back of his own good recent effort when runner-up at Warwick, although handicap-debutant Slide Rule has the potential to have a big say, too.
13:36 – Golden Ace
GOLDEN ACE improved all the way through an unbeaten campaign as a novice last season, winning all four of her starts, notably lowering the colours of Brighterdaysahead in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
That form looks incredibly strong now, and Golden Ace has been far from disgraced in two starts at around two and a half miles this season.
She has been crying out for a return to two miles and a speed test round here will be right up her street.
Greatwood winner Burdett Road excelled himself in the Christmas Hurdle, leading until two out and likely to have finished even closer had he not belted the last.
So he can pose a big threat.
14:15 – Abingworth
Granted a clean round of jumping, ABINGWORTH could be the answer.
The seven-year-old was a winner over this course and distance on his sole previous visit to this course last March, and he is now 3 lb below that winning mark.
Having shown promise in a trio of novice hurdles, Thunder N Lightnin is of strong interest switched to fences for his up-and-coming yard, and he rates the main danger ahead of Good Friday Fairy.

14:50 – The Sainted Canary
THE SAINTED CANARY showed fairly useful form in defeat in a trio of starts in bumpers and he attracted support ahead of his hurdling debut at Taunton last month.
He offered something to work on, novicey at some of his hurdles, and outpaced approaching two from home.
He will come into his own when going further than two miles, but this doesn’t look a strong race, and he’s arguably got the most potential.
Seventeenothree and Star Artist both showed ability in bumpers and may provide the chief threat.
15:25 – Quick Sharpener
Slight preference is for QUICK SHARPENER, who left his low-key comeback run well behind when finding just one too good at Newcastle last month.
It’s early days for this eight-year-old over fences; this is just his second start in this sphere, and he’s probably capable of better than his current mark implies.
Hatos has edged down the weights and is second choice, albeit only marginally, as both Risk de Pluie and Famoso also merit respect.
16:00 – De Tellers Fortune
DE TELLERS FORTUNE showed improved form when making a winning return and chase debut at Taunton in December, narrowly seeing off a next-time-out winner in the process.
He’s one to be interested in for his powerful stable and is expected to make another bold bid from this 6 lb higher mark, especially as this stiffer test of stamina is sure to suit. Pedley Wood is compiling a very solid record over fences and he’s feared.
Enjoy Your Life is another with a shout of bouncing back from a lesser run late last year.
16:35 – Badbury Rings
BADBURY RINGS has been making steady progress over hurdles this season, particularly in handicaps and since moving up to three miles, finishing placed on his last two appearances at Taunton.
He impressed with how well he travelled when runner-up on his latest start, pulling well clear with the winner, and it surely won’t be long until he goes one place better.
Western Harmony and Briefly are possible improvers in handicaps for good stables and may give Neil Mulholland’s charge the most to do.
