13:30 Warwick – Got Grey (Daily Mirror)
French winner Kart d’Estruval has had wind surgery and could be a different proposition on this second start for Dan Skelton. However, preference is for his stablemate GOT GREY who did well after joining the yard last summer and can benefit from the drop back in trip after a break. With Harry Skelton riding Kart d’Estruval, there is the possibility that supposed stable second string Got Grey will be underestimated by the market. The drop back in distance could be a positive for Celtic Art and he is second choice ahead of Kart d’Estruval and Sao Carlos.
13:50 Newbury – Shutupshirley (The Guardian)
Haiti Couleurs hitting such impressive new heights over fences has to be respected, despite this return to hurdles, while Up For Parol is one of several other in-form candidates and Ivaldi (second choice) might be able to leave his reappearance effort way behind him. However, the vote goes to bottomweight SHUTUPSHIRLEY who returned in such good style on Boxing Day from more than two years off.
14:30 Naas – Autoportrait (Irish Sun)
Mouse Morris has tried the consistent AUTOPORTRAIT over 2m and 3m. Perhaps this distance at a stiff track will bring out the best in him, and he is a hopeful choice to make his relative experience count over bumper winners Lovely Hurling, Jump Allen and Road To Home. Another to consider is Cardcounter.
15:35 Newbury – Navajo Indy (Racing Post)
The combination of a return to Newbury and first-time headgear could well enable the progressive NAVAJO INDY to reverse Windsor placings with Secret Squirrel, who warrants respect all the same. Joyeuse is the least exposed contender and looks interesting, while Fiercely Proud, Washington, Favour And Fortune and Mirabad are others to consider.
