Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what an NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
14:45 Lingfield – The Two Amigos (Telegraph)
Hopes for THE TWO AMIGOS have been rekindled by his second to Saint Xavier at Haydock and the 2022 Welsh National hero is taken to register his first win since. At 13, they are the old men of the party, and Major Dundee is another veteran who needs plenty of respect. The most interesting among those who have not proved their stamina and step up in trip appears to be Here Comes McCoy (second choice) ahead of Passing Well and Everything’sontick.
15:28 Newcastle – Momaer (Newmarket)
Hierarchy bids to gain compensation for a disqualification last week when weighing in light, and he looks a strong contender, as does recent C&D winner Muscika (second choice) who retains plenty of enthusiasm despite his advancing years. However, a chance is taken on MOMAER who has not been with Jack Morland long and showed a good deal more on her second run back from a lengthy absence than on the first. Sibyl Charm and Kitaab complete the shortlist in an open race.
15:35 Catterick – Crossing The Bar (The Times)
Irish challenger CROSSING THE BAR ran really well when second of 21 at Fairyhouse last time and is taken to go one better today. Bumper winner Kap De Triomphe is an intriguing contender upped from 2m for his handicap debut and he may be the chief danger (market support would boost confidence in his claims). Fellow handicap newcomer Pike Road and recent Ayr third Piaff Bubbles are also considered.
18:00 Southwell – Pleasant Man (Daily Mirror)
Lawrence Mullaney’s last two runners have won, which gives strong hope that PLEASANT MAN can build on last Friday’s effort and go one better. Optician, who has an impressive record under Rossa Ryan, is second choice ahead of Robusto who posted a sound reappearance effort. Swinging London is back up in class, but his recent productivity is a selling point.
