12:12 Rosenpur
Rosenpur had been shaping up well and made the most of a good opportunity to snap a string of seconds and belatedly get off the mark at Wolverhampton a couple of weeks ago. Rosenpur was ridden positively back in trip and stuck to his task well to register a straightforward success by a length. He can launch another bold bid back in handicap company.
12:42 Noble Victory
James Tate has had four winners from his nine runners so far this year and his newcomer Noble Victory makes appeal on paper. Noble Victory is out of the listed-placed Purple Glow who has done well as a broodmare and produced six winners from as many representatives. He gets the vote over Ant Colony who arguably has the best form on offer and was a creditable fifth in a Kempton handicap on his return to action a couple of weeks ago.
13:12 The Bay Warrior
The Bay Warrior has been in good order of late and he gained reward for his consistency when successful in an 11-furlong handicap here a couple of weeks ago. He came in for a well-judged ride here last time – he was produced at the right time under more patient tactics – and is in a stronger race here, but he still looks fairly treated after edging up only 2 lb in the weights.
13:42 Dyrholaey
Dyrholaey lost his unbeaten record in tame fashion when down the field in the Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes at Royal Ascot on his fourth start, but he got back on track after a break when third at Wolverhampton last month. Dyrholaey, who had been gelded since last seen, had every chance over a furlong out and was beaten only three-quarters of a length, so that is an encouraging platform on which he can build.
14:12 Further Measure
Further Measure is going through a good spell and made it two wins from his last three starts when successful over this course and distance last week. He was sensibly steadied and not asked to contest the strong pace, but it was still impressive how decisively he scored, drawing five lengths clear. A 4 lb penalty should not prevent this thriving sort from launching another bold bid.
14:42 Van Zant
Van Zant left some disappointing efforts behind him when runner-up at Wolverhampton on his penultimate start and he confirmed that return to form when scoring over this course and distance a couple of weeks ago. Van Zant knuckled down well to get the verdict by half a length and he should go well again in a similar contest.
15:12 Miss Calculation
Miss Calculation caught the eye when third in a six-furlong classified stakes at Wolverhampton on her return to action a few weeks ago, running on well inside the final furlong when getting in the clear. She should benefit from stepping back up in trip here and Jason Hart, who has been on board for three of her four wins, is back in the saddle here.
15:42 Tea Sea
Tea Sea is on a roll and looks up to completing the hat-trick. He proved sharper with his reappearance run under his belt when successful at Wolverhampton last month and built on that when landing a mile handicap here earlier this month. he deserves a bit of extra credit as he started his challenge from further back than the placed pair in a race run at just a fair gallop. A 2 lb rise could underestimate him in this sort of form.
16:12 Soames Forsyte
Soames Forsyte took a step back in the right direction from his reduced mark when third in a mile handicap here on his penultimate start and he built on that to score over course and distance a couple of weeks ago. He enjoyed the run of the race but still deserves credit for finishing nicely on top and he remains with handicapping scope.
