17:30 – Windsor Pass
This looks trappy but the vote goes to WINDSOR PASS, who is generally reliable and was a close second over C&D 19 days ago. She’s only 1lb higher here and is a big player if this sets up for her closing style. Nubough, who has finished runner-up at this track in two of his last three starts, is feared most ahead of Lord Danielson who has had two course wins this month. Another to consider is Mashaan, who had an excuse with cheekpieces addded last time and could bounce back with the headgear removed.
18:00 – Rescue Mission
Diamont Katie and Jake Loves Laura have shown ability and are preferred in that order, as Diamont Katie has had only one chance to show what she can do. However, they do not set a high standard for the Cheveley Park-owned RESCUE MISSION who is selected to make a winning start for Andrew Balding. The betting moves should give an important clue about her.
18:30 – Lilkian
Match Anthem gave it a good shot back at 6f in his hat-trick bid at Wolverhampton last Saturday and he’s respected. Miss Moonshine has claims if she can build on her eyecatching effort on Polytrack last week, while Mark Usher has two interesting contenders in the veteran Q Twenty Boy and the unexposed Shades Of May. However, the vote goes to 12-time AW winner LILKIAN, who had a near miss at Lingfield last time and could be hard to catch if he can repeat that form.
19:00 – Secret Mistral
Miggy Magic has been threatening for his new stable and this could be run to suit this strong traveller. If the new tongue tie has a positive effect then he looks set to go well again. A case can be made for most of the others, notably Thunder Star and Angle Land, but the vote goes to SECRET MISTRAL. She showed how well treated she was when overcoming a fluffed start to win at Wolverhampton last month and she has the speed to dominate if a return to positive tactics is deployed.
19:30 – Sunny Time (NAP)
Most of these have plenty to prove but SUNNY TIME (nap) is a notable exception and he can follow up his recent Lingfield win, a race where he had three of today’s rivals behind him. Kameko Spirit has the assistance of Rossa Ryan today and she may prove the biggest danger.
20:00 – Palazzo Persico
Chelmsford brings out the best in PALAZZO PERSICO and he is taken to post his third C&D win. Rainwater was second to the selection over C&D last month and could again pose the main threat. The in-form Urban Sprawl can be in the mix if staying the distance.
20:30 – Billy Mcgarry
Preference is for triple AW winner BILLY MCGARRY, who got back on track with a close second behind a major improver at Southwell last week. He’s 2lb well in off the same mark here and has leading claims if he can back that up. The big danger is Cherry King, who has finished second in his last four runs including a near miss at Wolverhampton on Tuesday. Third choice is United Force, who scored at Southwell on his penultimate run and has possibilities if he can recapture that form.
