14:17 – Red Evolution

RED EVOLUTION ended last season with a couple of disappointing efforts, but he sets the standard based on the sort of form he showed when finishing in the frame on his first three starts. He has been given a break and gelded since his latest effort and looks the one to beat back in these calmer waters.

Tropical Retreat shaped nicely when fourth in a six-furlong maiden on her debut here last month and she should be suited by this drop in trip, so she also looks like a player.

14:47 – Storm Eric

STORM ERIC took advantage of a falling mark when landing a mile handicap here earlier this month and he only narrowly failed to defy a penalty over this course and distance a couple of weeks ago.

The patiently ridden Storm Eric wasn’t as well placed as the winner when the steady pace lifted, so he can arguably have that effort upgraded a touch. That confirmed his return to form and he’s likely to give another good account off this 4 lb higher mark.

15:17 – Mister Adam

MISTER ADAM showed plenty of ability when fourth in a mile maiden on debut at the Curragh in November, staying on well inside the final furlong to be nearest at the finish.

He’s bred to stay well on the dam’s side of his pedigree – he’s out of an Irish St Leger winner – so the step up to this extended mile and a quarter can help him raise his game.

15:47 – San Salvador

SAN SALVADOR hasn’t run in this sphere since finishing runner-up on his Flat debut at Ballinrobe in the summer of 2022. However, he has become a useful chaser and won a Grade 3 novice at Roscommon last September.

He would have run below form had he not fallen two out at Leopardstown last month, but this maiden provides him with a good opportunity to bounce back and he can make his class tell.

16:17 – Pink Oxalis

PINK OXALIS shaped well on her first start for Stephen Thorne (previously with Joe Murphy) when fourth in a mile handicap here in December, failing to sustain her effort after travelling better than most.

She again shaped well when dropped a furlong to this course and distance last time, finishing well to take second after having her momentum checked and conceding first run. She could still have more to offer for her in-form yard and is taken to build on her recent promise.

16:47 – Anvika

ANVIKA ran well on her return to the all-weather when beaten less than half a length in fourth in a mile handicap here last month. She ran to a similar level when beaten only half a length back over the same course and distance 12 days ago.

Anvika is developing a good record at this track, and her form figures now read 2142. The drop back to seven furlongs shouldn’t be a problem, as she’s won at the trip and looks likely to give another good account.

17:17 – Mint Man

MINT MAN made the most of a good opportunity when successful in a five-furlong maiden here last month and he ran creditably when runner-up back in handicap company over this course and distance 12 days ago. Mint Man was no match for the comprehensive winner, but he proved to be the best of the rest and can go well again.
