13:50 – Golan Loop
Preference is for Irish point winner GOLAN LOOP, who kicked off his hurdling career with a creditable third behind an odds-on rival over C&D last month. He sets a fair standard on that form and was in the process of running another promising race when he was brought down two out at Ascot last time. Useful Flat performer Serious Challenge looks a likely improver upped in trip on his second run in this sphere and he’s feared most, ahead of the hurdling newcomers Big Bert and Loch Frisa.
14:20 – Smart Casual
Diplomatic Ash (second choice) is open to progress over fences and needs considering but he might struggle giving so much weight away to the equally progressive SMART CASUAL. Extraordinary Man is another worth considering.
14:50 – Risk It All
Land Of Moon is progressing well but will not find it easy conceding so much weight to the only 4yo in the field RISK IT ALL, who made a most encouraging start to his hurdle career when third at Kempton over Christmas. Rogue Tornado, who’s been in good form on the Flat, appeals as a likely type to do well over hurdles and can give the selection most to do.
15:20 – Fortuna Ligna
With the James Owen stable continuing in good form, the unexposed Squiggles (second choice) is not passed over lightly but it might be worth chancing FORTUNA LIGNA who holds few secrets but ran respectably from out of the weights in a higher grade last time. River Tyne has been in fine fettle over fences and she can’t be ruled out if transferring that form to hurdles.
15:50 – Fantastikas
A few to consider. Vision De Maine had excuses when pulled up latest so could resume progress in the cheekpieces and Northern Poet is entitled to improve on last month’s promising C&D reappearance, although the forecast rain is a concern. However, FANTASTIKAS, who handles most ground, could be worth chancing down to a class 4 with a capable amateur booked. Invincible Nao is feared most if staying this longer distance.
16:20 – Eliza Dolittle (NAP)
This looks a bit trappy but it might be worth sticking with ELIZA DOLITTLE (nap), who made her breakthrough with a brave win here last time and should be fine on this drop back in trip. Gorcombe Moonshine, who returned from a break with a good second over fences on Boxing Day, is feared most ahead of Tara Iti, who looks interesting on his close second behind the selection last month. Sawpit Samantha also has possibilities, while another to keep an eye on is the unexposed hurdler Rapid Mission.
