16:26 – I Cant Believe
Kitaro Kich may be able to confirm last week’s C&D placings with Pessoa and he’s high on the shortlist. Marioento looks highly likely to take a step forward now handicaps are on his agenda and market support would be encouraging but I CAN’T BELIEVE leaves the impression a bigger effort is lurking and today’s drop back in trip could see him produce it.
17:00 – Gaiety Musical
These are still early days for Zandita and this is considerably weaker than the Lingfield handicap she contested last month but it remains to be seen if she’s well treated. Celebrating Ethel ran well against males last time and can feature but GAIETY MUSICAL and Top Of The Class fought out the finish at Kempton 12 days ago and can dominate proceedings here too.
17:30 – Dance In The Storm
The three with the strongest claims are Dancing Colours, Phrygia and DANCE IN THE STORM. Marginal preference is for Andrew Balding’s filly, whose Chelmsford debut was full of promise and who is probably open to the greatest improvement.
18:00 – Bossy Parker (NAP)
Alice’s Impact may be freshened up by a change of scenery, while Plumette has the ability and Galileo Glass can step forward from his recent stable debut. This looks good for BOSSY PARKER (nap) though, with conditions to suit, an easy lead possible and, perhaps more significantly, no Ash Wednesday to worry about.
18:30 – Sams Hope
This looks particularly trappy. Kranjcar hasn’t lived up to market billing in two runs this month but he has low mileage and the addition of accessories could help. Big Narstie is reunited with Rossa Ryan and that could prompt a revival, while Bernie The Bear and Ravenglass (second choice) also have claims. SAM’S HOPE has finished unplaced in both starts this winter but neither run has been without hope and this trip could prove her optimum. She could be worth chancing for a yard that continues to bang in the winners.
19:00 – Jimmy Knocker
Dropping to 6f shouldn’t be an issue for the thriving City Cyclone (second choice), while Royal Musketeer, Bill Plumb and Em Jay Kay also have something to recommend them. None appeals more than the unexposed JIMMY KNOCKER, however, with his Newcastle win well advertised since and who has the potential for further progress after just five starts.
19:30 – Hawa Jumeirah
Most of these have something to prove but HAWA JUMEIRAH still has low mileage and he got off the mark with a comfortable success over C&D last Monday. He’s open to more progress at this trip and is a major player again under a penalty. The main danger is Starfighter, who won off a reduced mark here on his penultimate run before a creditable third behind the selection last week. Another to consider is triple course winner Mirabello Bay, who is back on his last winning mark.
20:00 – Disquietude
The shortlist is headed by DISQUIETUDE (narrowly preferred) and National Health who both have respectable recent C&D form at this level. Lhebayeb is 0-19 on AW but warrants respect on these terms, while Advindi has possibilities upped further in distance.
20:30 – Spartan Times
Unexposed SPARTAN TIMES is taken to build on his latest effort and emulate his dam by winning at this venue. Second choice is Pop Noodle who, like the selection, has respectable recent C&D form. Northstead Gardens, Enzos Angel and Sun Festival also have possibilities on these terms.
