GINNY’S DESTINY developed into a smart 2m4f novice chaser last term, proving particularly well suited by Cheltenham. Has failed to show his form on either run this season, the first when favourite for the Paddy Power Gold Cup here, but can’t be written off yet. Likely player provided he revives.

15:15 Doncaster – Forward Plan (The Guardian)

FORWARD PLAN won two competitive 3m handicaps last winter (good to soft/soft; including C&D), which sandwiched a near miss in this race (good). Returned to form with good third of 14 to Charlie Uberalles over C&D (good to soft) last month and there’s every chance he’ll be bang there.

15:35 Cheltenham – Monmiral (Sam Hardy)

Blinkers turned MONMIRAL round for a win in last season’s Pertemps Final over C&D in March and he ran well in them when second of four in Grade 2 at Newbury (again 3m on soft) in November, albeit three and a half lengths behind Strong Leader who gave him 2lb.

18:20 Wolverhampton – Thapa Vc (Sunday Express)

THAPA VC is an AW stalwart with nine wins, plus two more on turf. Usually does his best work late on and he only just failed to get up at Lingfield (7f) on New Year’s Eve. Four of his victories have come here and he’s likely to go well in a bid for a fifth.
