16:45 – Fast Fred
This looks a warm race of its type. Dual C&D winner Liberated Lad has to be considered, but preference is for FAST FRED who completed a hat-trick in the autumn and lost little in defeat when third of ten here last month, the form of which has been franked by the runner-up. The consistent Sol Cayo also makes the shortlist under Simon Walker.
17:15 – Queen Cody
There isn’t much solid form to go on and this could go to a newcomer. Solarize and Regal Accord are interesting but the one who appeals most at this stage is QUEEN CODY, who has winners in her pedigree and gets the assistance of a capable 7lb claimer.
17:45 – San Juanito
The one who appeals most is SAN JUANITO, who stepped up on his debut effort when third at Chelmsford last time. His pedigree and the way he ran that day suggest he’ll be better suited by this trip and he’s taken to beat Wanderlust and Invited.
18:15 – Rich Rhythm (NAP)
Last-time winners Star Pupil and Soames Forsyte are players but this can go to RICH RHYTHM (nap), who shaped well on his second run back from a lengthy absence last time. That form worked out well and he’s taken to beat Profitman, who ran well over 1m last week. Overnight Oats is another to consider.
18:45 – Minnesota Lad
Not many of these can be left out with certainty. Many A Star and Counsel are solid options but the suggestion is MINNESOTA LAD, who ran well on his first start since leaving Richard Fahey in a race that threw up winners. Lir Speciale ran respectably after a break last time and is another to consider.
19:15 – Bomb Squad
Back Tomorrow has won both her starts at Wolverhampton this year and is a player back at this venue but slight preference is for BOMB SQUAD, who has also been in good form and goes well at this track. Cooperation and Big Bard are others to consider in an open event.
19:45 – Nelson Gay
Although he’s not won for a while, the drop back to 5f looks the way to go with NELSON GAY, for whom Billy Loughnane looks an eyecatching jockey booking. He has cheekpieces back on to replace blinkers, is on a good mark and should get the race run to suit. Miggy Magic and Castan look the main dangers.
20:15 – Swinging London
A warm little contest for the grade. Carlton bids for a five-timer after four wins on the Chelmsford Polytrack, but he does have winning form on Tapeta. Alfheim bids for a four-timer after three wins at Wolverhampton, and she is the type who only just does enough so is also respected. However, the choice is SWINGING LONDON who has winning form over C&D and shaped as though the return to this trip would suit when fourth in a warmer race here last week. C&D winner Currumbin and Hill Station are others worth a second look in an open contest.
