10:15 Lingfield – Upepo (each-way)
All four of UPEPO‘s victories have come at this venue. His only try over today’s 2m distance was in the race when Certain Style under claimer Tyrese Cameron got a freebie up front to win by 22 lengths, a result that led to the other jockeys getting a ban for poor race riding.
He looks like this 2m distance is well within his compass and is under the radar in the market.
11:15 Lingfield – Night On Earth
NIGHT ON EARTH appears to have a class edge in this line-up and there’s a strong possibility that he will be able to concede weight to his rivals. Last time, he applied his usual tactics of attacking from the front, but seemed to be moving a stride too quickly in the early stages.
It was surprising that he was only beaten one length in the end as the field closed in on him. Notably, that was against runners who are two grades higher company than he faces now.
13:25 Lingfield – Santorini Star
It was no surprise that William Haggas’ SANTORINI STAR made a mockery of her opening handicap mark over this course and distance last time. She is a half-sister to Dreamloper, who was a Group One performer.
She’s only been raised 6lb by the assessor to a mark of 83. That could seriously underestimate where she could be sitting from a ratings point of view, in a few runs.
17:30 Wolverhampton – Imperial Fighter
IMPERIAL FIGHTER tumbled down the weights for the new operation from a peak rating of 110 to win off a mark of 69. Additionally, he’s only been given a 2lb nudge by the assessor for this assignment. Now that he’s got that little bit of confidence again, so he should be able to follow up.
19:30 Wolverhampton – Global Effort
GLOBAL EFFORT‘s only two victories have come at this track and he has a host of placed efforts from much higher in the ratings. He was only beaten by half a length last time at Chelmsford and a reproduction of that form will surely see him go close around his favourite racecourse. The Phil McEntee yard have been amongst the winners recently too.
20:30 Wolverhampton – Disclosure
DISCLOSURE takes a big jump up in distance to 1m 4f now and judging by how she hit the line last time over 1m 1f – it could be the right move. She’s related to a decent filly in Marmara Sea who stayed quite well.
Disclosure has dropped 12lb from her opening mark and conditional jockey Tommy Jakes takes off another 5lb to reduce the burden even further.
