12:22 – Caramay

Since being fitted with cheekpieces, CARAMAY has built up a solid record. Last week, she posted her best effort yet when winning a seven-runner handicap at Wolverhampton.

Returning to this longer trip will be no problem. She is well-proven at this level and looks sure to launch another bold bid under a 5-lb penalty. Always Waving, on handicap debut, and Kinetic, returned to this sphere, are others to consider in a competitive race of its type.

12:52 – Blue Lakota

BLUE LAKOTA was unlucky not to finish closer in his bid to complete a hat-trick when third at Newcastle 17 days ago, denied a run over a furlong out before running on late.

He’s still relatively unexposed in handicaps, very much of interest again and is expected to prove too strong for Triple Charged, who similarly caught the eye when a couple of placings behind the selection last time.

Easy Lingfield scorer Horus is another to consider.

13:22 – Invited

The pick of INVITED‘s two-year-old form, especially his runner-up effort to smart Ancient Truth at Newmarket, gives him obvious claims now starting out for a new yard having been gelded, and he’s fancied to make a bold bid returning from five months off.

Midnight City has recently knocked on the door, and he’s a threat. If the betting vibes are positive, newcomer Cavolo Nero is another to note.

13:52 – Arika

ARIKA remains a maiden but has an attractive American pedigree and ran some solid races on the all-weather for Jane Chapple-Hyam.

His latest effort at Kempton in October was a solid one, and he has since joined an in-form yard that does well with new recruits, so it will be interesting to see which way he goes in the market, having fallen to a career-low mark.

Ring of Gold, who is also potentially well treated, and Reputation are a couple of others to consider.

14:22 – High Court Judge

HIGH COURT JUDGE joined James Owen towards the end of last year and came good at Wolverhampton last week, capitalising on a drop in grade on just his second start at a mile and a half to win handsomely.

He is worth marking up for making up so much ground in a modestly-run race, and, given he’s still unexposed at this sort of trip, he is one to keep on the right side now dropping into classified company.

The remainder are out of form, and it’s likely to be fought out by that pair.

14:52 – Busby

Having scored over slightly further at this course in December, BUSBY was just worn down late in the day over a stiffer circuit at Newcastle 12 days ago, and he’s worth a chance to get back to winning ways in a race that lacks depth.

Letmeseethecolts is the only one of the opponents to arrive in form, so she’s the main threat, although market support for Back From Dubai would be significant.

15:22 – Dance Time

DANCE TIME is building up a good record on the all-weather (two-time course winner), and she proved at least as good as ever when getting her head back in front over this course and distance last month.

That was a smooth success, making good headway in the straight and produced to lead in the final furlong. A

subsequent 3 lb rise in the weights looks fair, and with more to come at this trip, she is taken to follow up. Haaland and Two Auld Pals are both serious dangers, though.

15:55 – Marinakis

MARINAKIS found sprint trips a little too sharp, but he was well backed when opening his account upped to a mile at Chelmsford last week, finding plenty in the closing stages to lead in the final 100 yards.

He clearly relished the extra emphasis on stamina and, very much unexposed at this trip, he’s a strong fancy to go in again turned out under a penalty.

Retraction looks like a big player, having shaped well at Wolverhampton a month ago; however, Charlatan is another one to consider.
