17:30 – City Cyclone (NAP)
Topweight CITY CYCLONE (nap) still has a perfect record in C&D races at this time of year and is taken to complete a quickfire double. Heavenly Fire (second choice) is an obvious danger, having gotten off the mark on Tuesday, while Radiant Angel is another runner performing well within the last week.
18:00 – Wanderlust
Any confidence behind Run With It would change the complexion of matters. The market could also be informative for Destructive, who has one significant piece of form and has now been gelded. However, the suggestion is WANDERLUST, who ran such a promising first race here behind two who could turn out useful.
18:30 – Manara
As some of these have shown already, tactics and luck in running can play a vital part. It’s a step up in trip, but perhaps Fernando will revert to the front-running ride, which took him so close on his penultimate start.
MANARA should not be far away before launching the sort of effort that saw her win her last two races, and she might just steal a march on Tiempo Alegre, who seems likely to come from at or near the back, albeit not in a big field.
Those two top the list, but Patrol is also firmly in the calculations.
19:00 – Nogo’s Dream
This could be run at a good clip that would suit NOGO’S DREAM. He finishes second too often for comfort, but the opportunity might knock should the pace collapse up front. Most others have chances depending on how the race unfolds, with Catch Cunningham and Secret Mistral feared in that order.
19:30 – Roselily
Karl Burke is in excellent form, and topweight Party Bear is an interesting contender, making her handicap debut after a break. But preference is for ROSELILY, who shaped with promise over 7f here last time and could benefit from the drop back in trip.
Consistent handicap newcomer Sarafina Mshairi is another to consider.
20:00 – Rogue Thunder
The in-form ROGUE THUNDER is just 1lb higher than when he narrowly beat Red Walls over C&D 12 days ago and earns the vote ahead of his old rival. Maharajas Express went close over 5f here on Monday’s stable debut and will be a big danger if the return to 6f isn’t an issue.
Under Curfew had an excuse here last time and could also be involved.
20:30 – Jersey Rocs
Now 2-2 since the blinkers went on and good value for last month’s win here, given how the race unfolded, JERSEY ROCS can bring up the hat-trick. It could also be onwards and upwards for recent course winner Kit Gabriel who is unexposed at this trip. Equion and Yeoman also have fighting chances.
