14:10 Chelmsford City – Jaamir
JAAMIR is recovering after a very poor run last time at Southwell. However, his best try did come at this venue over a furlong further and coming back down in distance looks like an ideal move given his natural pace. The yard couldn’t have started the season any better.
14:35 Newcastle – Dash Gordon
He was picked up for £4,000 at the autumn horses-in-training sale, off the back of a tidy win over this course and distance last time.
DASH GORDON still looks very well treated, with a lowly-looking mark of 50, and he can increase his already impressive strike rate on a synthetic surface again.
15:15 Chelmsford City – We Never Stop
WE NEVER STOP was pestered on the front end when trying to make all at Newcastle last time, and the winner came from miles off the pace, suggesting that they went too quickly up front.
He is well-suited to attack if he wants to, but he’s not one-dimensional. Should someone push on early he can easily take sit in behind and challenge from the box seat.
15:45 Newcastle – Trais Fluors
TRAIS FLUORS is a tricky old so-and-so, but there’s no doubt he has much ability. Only a few seasons ago, he was operating from a triple-digit markup.
He’s found his level now, having won two of his last four starts. He’s reunited with 3lb claimer Kaiya Fraser, who got a tremendous tune out of him the last time he was at the controls.
17:30 Wolverhampton – Radiant Angel
RADIANT ANGEL gets the new headgear and tongue tie combination today off the back of a very good effort underneath this pilot over a furlong shorter last time.
Provided Nicola Currie can get him to settle early on from a good starting birth in four, he has to have every opportunity to break his maiden in this lowly handicap.
20:00 Wolverhampton – Snow Berry
SNOW BERRY hasn’t been handed a good starting position in stall 9, but at Wolverhampton, you have a little bit of time down the back straight to get sorted before the left-handed turn for home.
She made eye-catching late headway, having been dropped right out at Southwell last time, and connections have popped 7lb claimer Warren Fentiman on board, which is a huge plus. That could swing this contest in our favour.
