13:03 – Oakley Boy

Stuart Williams’ OAKLEY BOY has shown improved form fitted with a visor on his last couple of starts, bumping into next-time-out winner Carbine Harvester at Wolverhampton on his latest outing, so he is taken to resume winning ways returned to five furlongs having won a nursery at Lingfield over that trip in November.

Dandy Magic left her stable debut effort behind with a ready success here last time and is respected, with Star Chorus also one to note in his first handicap.

13:33 – Humble Spark

Jim Goldie’s HUMBLE SPARK showed a superb turn of foot to get himself out of trouble and beat Phone Tag half a length here eleven days ago and remains of strong interest up 2 lb in what is likely to be another tactical affair given there are just four runners.

Percy Willis was fifth behind Humble Spark that day but has since finished a good second to Humble Spark’s stablemate Midnight Lion here last week and is the obvious threat.

14:03 – Northern Ruler

NORTHERN RULER wasn’t seen to best effect when backed as if defeat was out of the question at Lingfield on his final start for William Haggas last September. He has to be worth another chance stepped up in trip for his new trainer, Karl Burke, whose yard is in form.

Royal Approval carries a penalty for winning a similar event here last month and is open to further improvement up in trip, while Cracksman’s brother Fireblade has shown more than enough to win a race.

14:33 – Mondammej

Antony Brittain’s course regular MONDAMMEJ shaped as if still in good form when second over six furlongs here last time and remains of interest back at his best trip, having won twice over five furlongs here late last year.

His stablemate, Dark Kestrel, is another course-and-distance winner and a potential threat if getting the breaks, looking unlucky not to finish closer here last time, while Al Farabi should have more to offer for his current yard.

15:03 – Kalikapour

KALIKAPOUR had tumbled in the weights before ending a losing run for Roger Fell when winning at Southwell under apprentice Gianluca Sanna last month. A 3 lb rise doesn’t look insurmountable in his bid to follow up under the same rider.

Only a short head separated Sandret and Powerful Response in a blanket finish over course and distance eleven days ago, and they head the dangers.

15:33 – King’s School

KING’S SCHOOL is a Newcastle regular and a steadily progressive four-year-old for Gemma Tutty, having won his last two starts here late last month, so there’s every chance he can complete the hat-trick.

His old adversaries, Red Maids, third to King’s School last time after completing her own course-and-distance hat-trick, and William Dewhirst, beaten half a length by the selection last time after winning his two previous starts over course and distance, head the dangers.

16:03 – Rebecca’s Girl

Gary Rutherford’s REBECCA’S GIRL fared best of those ridden close to the pace on her most recent outing over course and distance last month when third to Trais Fluors and appeals as the type to win more races this winter on that evidence, so she earns the vote.

Lahab, runner-up on that occasion, and Wyvern, also second here last time, are a couple of others that have been shaping up well lately and warrant plenty of respect in what looks like a good race for the grade.
