The Jumps meeting at Plumpton has fallen foul of the heavy rain that has hit Britain and Ireland, but Punchestown goes ahead after passing an inspection. Familiar Dreams, who finished last in the Nashville Gold Cup before placing third behind Maughreen on her hurdling debut, will bid to get off the mark in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Hurdle (14:35) but tackles 10 rivals including the Willie Mullins-trained Toad Hall, who returns from a 660-day absence.

Gordon Elliott sends Bowensonfire across the Irish Sea for the Class 4 Novices’ Hurdle (16:00) at Ayr and the all-weather meeting in the evening at Wolverhampton rounds off proceedings.
