Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what an NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
11:00 Southwell – Early Release (Racing Post)
Causin A Commotion, the only winner in the field, looks solid, with the return to 6f likely to suit.
However, there are some potential improvers on show, with Grey Operations and Sole Spirit making their nursery debuts and former stablemates Ignition and EARLY RELEASE also having some untapped potential.
Marginal preference is for the latter, who made some late inroads over 5f here when last seen and could benefit from the extra furlong today.
13:55 Exeter – Juniper Allen (Racing Post)
Exeter has brought out the best in JUPITER ALLEN, and now that he has returned to this venue, he can bounce back from a lesser run at Sandown.
He gets the nod ahead of Hititi, who is well handicapped on his hurdle form and was missing his usual tongue tie when pulled up at Haydock most recently.
The very lightly raced 6yo Toss Of A Coin is open to further improvement for Paul Nicholls. While Don’t Rightly Know is an interesting chasing newcomer, cases can also be made for Enjoy Your Life and Pachacuti.
14:30 Exeter – Mayhem Mya (The Times)
The mare MAYHEM MYA showed some good chase form here last season and has a lower mark to exploit over hurdles. She earns the vote ahead of the unexposed 5yo Into The Park, who could return to form with his reappearance behind him.
14:55 Southwell – Charencey (Spotlight)
Billyb bumped into one over C&D on Saturday, and he’s a leading contender, while Chola Empire has a strong record over C&D, and Lessay still has potential on AW.
Bravo Zulu (second choice) is unexposed in blinkers and still has potential on this surface, but CHARENCEY had no luck behind him at Lingfield and could still be well handicapped.
