16:10 Blue Lakota
The drop back in trip on a flatter track may pose a question for BLUE LAKOTA, but he is 3lb well in under a penalty for his comprehensive Newcastle success a week ago so is difficult to oppose. Mister Coco Fizz could figure on stable debut if getting it right at the start, while Bank On Kent ran well over C&D last time so holds each-way claims. The return to this track might result in a better effort from Master Zack than at Wolverhampton last time.
16:40 Sunlit Uplands
This isn’t a strong race. SUNLIT UPLANDS came from well behind to very nearly win over C&D in October, and she might be the one. Antalya is another who shaped well first time out, and Preanka can threaten on this drop in grade.
17:10 Brightandbeautiful
The suggestion is nursery newcomer BRIGHTANDBEAUTIFUL, a well-bred filly who ran her best race last time behind a good prospect at Southwell. Crest Of Light is solid after her competitive first run in a handicap, while Chadleeny could have some improvement lurking.
17:40 Rajeko
Market support for any of the newcomers should be noted, but this probably revolves around RAJEKO who will find this much easier than the Group races he contested the last twice, earning an RPR of 93 when fourth of six in the July Stakes on the first occasion. If he fails to run near his best then the Southwell winner Port Light may be the one to take advantage, despite the outside stall
18:10 Kessaar Power (NAP)
Not many of these are solid. Apart from a modest effort last time, KESSAAR POWER (NAP) is an exception with the form of his C&D win and two runner-up efforts during the autumn reading well at this level. The main danger may come from the unexposed Jaamir who is open to progress now handicapping, while Kitaro Kich and Reel Power also make the shortlist.
18:40 Dubai Harbour
An open handicap. DUBAI HARBOUR was a market mover prior to scoring at Lingfield and, although back in trip, he may have more to offer. Rising Force and Starshot head the dangers.
19:10 Brewing
A small but select field. Street Kid is respected back off his last winning mark, while Alzahir is another to consider after this good third at Southwell last Saturday. However, there may still be more to come from the unexposed BREWING, who suggested he was on the way back when a close fourth from a wide draw at Wolverhampton last time.
19:40 Carlton
Dubai Immo is taking on lesser company than he normally faces and has won over this far on the AW so he has to make the shortlist, while Smokey Malone and Zooks could both go well. The Resdev Way has proved that he is no back number despite rising 12, but CARLTON is taken to back up last week’s successful stable debut over C&D. There is likely still more to come from him for new connections.
20:10 Southbank
This looks trappy with several holding claims in one way or another. Due Date is back off his last winning mark, while Ballybaymoonshiner and Frightening are both interesting down in trip. Smasher and Nubough are also worth a second look, but the vote goes to SOUTHBANK, who looks attractively handicapped having twice won over C&D from higher marks back in April.
