15:23 – Orbital
This can go to dual AW winner ORBITAL, who was as good as ever when going close over C&D two weeks ago and still looks feasibly treated off her revised mark.
Sol Cayo also finished runner-up here last time, and he’s feared most ahead of Orange N Blue, who still has potential and needs a close look on his comeback.
15:55 – Phoenix Star
Henery Hawk looks well-treated back on the AW and could leave his recent efforts behind. Oriental Prince still has potential as a sprinter, and the hood plus drop to 5f could prompt improvement.
Last year’s winner, Wee Fat Mac and Recon Mission, are solid options but Show Me Show Me and PHOENIX STAR could be the pair to concentrate on.
The former shaped with encouragement here last week, but the selection has dropped to a good mark, blew away the cobwebs last month and is reunited with Tommie Jakes this evening.
16:30 – Commander Crouch
Volenti has found his niche since joining Ben Haslam and is greatly respected as he bids for a third C&D win in his last four starts.
There are some lurkers in opposition, though. Martin’s Brig, Odd Socks Havana, Leap Year Lad (second choice), and COMMANDER CROUCH all have something to recommend them.
The selection has a modest strike rate, but he wasn’t suited by a steadily run 7f race on his stable debut, and today’s test should be more to his liking.
17:00 – Longhaired General
Having finished lame when beaten at a short price in July on his last start, LONGHAIRED GENERAL is not entirely convincing, but his form is a cut above his rivals, and he can oblige at the sixth attempt. Sorontar could be the one to chase him home.
17:30 – Rebeccas’s Girl
Trais Fluors and Drakeholes (second choice) were beaten favourites here last time but remain of interest off their current marks. JKR Cobbler has more to do in his hat-trick bid, which could be best left to REBECCA’S GIRL.
An easy winner over C&D 11 days ago, she made a bold bid upped to a mile here last week but was picked off in the final furlong. Having finished well clear of the third, she still appeals nicely ahead of her mark, and the return to 7f won’t hurt.
18:00 – Mondammej
Several come here in form, and prominent showings from El Bufalo, Paddy’s Day, and The Ridler (second choice) would seem likely.
MONDAMMEJ has been in fine form since a wind operation, though, and a 5lb rise for his recent C&D win may not stop him from completing the hat-trick.
18:30 – Jackson Street (NAP)
An improved showing from Mighty Power looks on the cards, while Tickets (second choice) and Too Much should benefit from the return to 6f. It took JACKSON STREET (nap) a while to break his duck, but there was a lot to like about his C&D win two weeks ago, and he can overcome a 5lb rise and follow up.
19:00 – Bellagio Man
Few would begrudge King’s School a breakthrough success, but he’s soared up the weights for getting beaten, and this is a new trip. He’s still likely to run well, but there are dangers.
Bella Kopella and Lequinto will appreciate the return to 6f, but BELLAGIO MAN is well up to defying this mark, and this could be run to suit with his trailblazing stablemate Spartan Fighter in the field.
19:30 – Cut To The Chase
Royal City and Arc Tesoro (second choice) remain capable of better, while She’sashambles should give it another good go under suitable conditions. CUT TO THE CHASE responded well to the drop to sprinting over C&D last week, though, and he can make light of his 6lb penalty.
