12:10 Cheltenham – Quantock Hills (each-way)
The ground will be much better for Lavender Hill Mob and cheekpieces are on but there’s value in backing Quantock Hills each-way. He stays really well and most of these juveniles don’t stay. I’ll take a chance on Warren Greatrex’s runner.
12:40 Cheltenham – Peaky Boy
Nicky Henderson is a big fan of Peaky Boy and he’s on for a five-timer. He didn’t seem that happy going on the inside last time out at Cheltenham. This better ground is definitely what he wants. Keep an eye on Destroytheevidence in the market as I wouldn’t give up on him yet!
13:13 Cheltenham – Coco Mademoiselle
Coco Mademoiselle was only beaten a head by Hometown Boy at Worcester last time out and I was there that day. That’s strong form. She’ll have that experience under her belt and the Skelton’s will fancy her. The rain won’t be an issue for her either. Malaita could be an each-way pick if you’re after a bigger price.
13:50 Cheltenham – Madara
I like to look at horses that have form at Cheltenham and Madara fits the bill. The ground won’t be a problem and this longer trip will suit. He won at the Dublin Racing Festival last season and he’s only 7lbs higher from that win. His run behind Il Ridoto was decent last time and I’d like to be on Madara!
14:25 Cheltenham – Issar DAiry
Issar DAiry ran a hell of a race a couple of runs ago but he didn’t go too well last time out at Newbury. I’m happy to give him another chance as he’s still well handicapped off a mark of 130. Freddie Mitchell also claims 5lbs.
15:00 Cheltenham – Jet Blue
Jet Blue is an interesting French contender and I’m going to take a punt on him. Skyjack Hijack has been a real success story for Jennie Candlish and it’ll be amazing if he wins again. The David Cottin team obviously think a lot of Jet Blue and he ran in a Group 1 at Longchamp in September. He’s smart and his form is strong.
15:35 Cheltenham – Joyeuse
I’m sticking with Joyeuse for Nico de Boinville and Nicky Henderson. He’s off a mark of 119 and he should be good enough to win this. She finished this last time but she needed the run. Pretending could be a solid value each-way pick and the more the ground dries, the better the chance.
