16:10 Thaisa
Sand Gazelle and Alfareqa are newcomers of considerable interest, but both Arabian Leopard and THAISA showed up well on their debut runs, and the latter can confirm the undoubted promise of her third here four weeks ago.
16:40 Indian Springs
The shortlist is headed by attractively bred newcomer INDIAN SPRINGS and leading form contender The Quiet Gent. The latter’s stablemate Invincible Melody is an interesting debutant, while Charging Bull and Crestofdistinction are other likely players.
17:10 Miss Collada
This looks a bit trappy, but it might be worth sticking with MISS COLLADA, who made it 2-2 on AW when scoring here last month and is open to more progress on this drop back in trip. The twice-raced Morte Point ran into a subsequent Listed winner at Ripon last time and he’s feared most ahead of Cyclonite, who could resume his progress back at 6f after a gelding operation.
17:40 Masubi
Charlie Appleby’s pair stand out on form and perhaps MASUBI can get the better of previous winner Spectacular View. King Of Narnia, Komodo Island, Shipshape and Zachary Hickes look the most interesting newcomers.
18:10 Kings Norton
Two of the four to have run hold claims and maybe Padua will do best, proving his 125-1 second on debut to be no fluke in the process. This can go to a newcomer, though, and there are several likely types to choose from. Bowmark, Modernise, and Noble Horizon are considered, but Godolphin runner KINGS NORTON is the pick.
18:40 La Fleur Petrus
Four of these are starting out for a new yard so a close inspection of the market near the off is advised. Much the most interesting runner is David Menuisier’s new recruit LA FLEUR PETRUS, who shaped well off this mark at Wolverhampton in October. Handicap debutante Absolute Star, who has switched to Roger Varian, is feared most.
19:10 Roi De France (NAP)
Three-year-olds have won four of the last five runnings of the Hyde Stakes (only one lined up in the year an older horse won) and this looks a good next step for ROI DE FRANCE (NAP). He did very well to land a 0-105 handicap over C&D a fortnight ago. The class acts of the race, Poker Face (second choice) and Holloway Boy, need to bounce back but are capable of doing so.
19:40 Tortured Soul
Several of interest but although an extra furlong would have been ideal TORTURED SOUL looks ready to resume his spring progress after a better effort at Wolverhampton recently and now just 1lb higher than for his ready course win under Neil Callan in March. Liberated Lad can give it a big shot back on AW and be the main danger. Bohemian Breeze and Silver Nightfall can also be involved.
20:10 Brunel Charm
Plenty of possibles with Art Fantastique, Heartrate, and Big Bard all coming into the reckoning. That said, this may rest between White Mist and BRUNEL CHARM and the latter, who has the assistance of Oisin Murphy in the saddle tonight, can build on last month’s promising return from wind surgery.
