14:54 – Orbital
The obvious place to start is with Prince Achille who got a deserved win over C&D last time after finishing runner-up twice. He looks sure to be thereabouts once more, but the preference is for ORBITAL, who had excuses in her last two defeats and still looks well handicapped. There may be more to come from Falcon Nine, as he steps back up in trip, while it’s worth keeping an eye on the market regarding Kaaranah.
15:24 – Fireblade
While Steel Tiger and Lasting Love (second choice) have been placed as they are not progressing, the Gosden-trained FIREBLADE appears to have an ideal opportunity to get off the mark.
16:00 – Ashmolean
Fort George sets the standard, and he’ll probably be difficult to beat, though there’s good reason to hope Merchant and Sudu can step up on their debut efforts. Then there’s the impeccably-bred newcomer ASHMOLEAN, who is a Frankel colt out of the high-class race mare Coronet.
16:30 – Kammeel
Having been gelded after showing improved form in third in a Kempton novice last time, KAMMEEL is taken to get off the mark on his nursery debut. The in-form Sherlock should also run well.
17:00 – Golden Duke
HK Fourteen is better than he showed behind Glendown at Southwell last time, and he could bounce back to form, while Jackson Street, Bellagio Man (second choice) and Iain Jardine’s pair Wee Fat Mac and Kats Bob also have something to recommend them. GOLDEN DUKE could be the answer, however, with his last foray in a Class 6 seeing him finish close over C&D in a race that represents strong form for the grade
17:30 – Style Of Life
A chance is taken on STYLE OF LIFE, who had excuses when below par last time. She might be better over further, but this prominent racer should give this a good go over a stiff 7f. With a strong gallop on the cards, Red Maids can emerge from off the pace and provide the main threat ahead of Lincoln Legacy
18:00 – Tomorrow Day
This can go to TOMORROW DAY, who is unbeaten in three starts here; although they were over 6f, the return to a longer trip shouldn’t be a problem. Eligible and Straight A are two others likely to run well.
18:30 – Barnaby (NAP)
There should be a solid pace here and one that BARNABY (nap) can track en route to a fifth straight win. He still looks on a good mark. Angel Of England (second choice) and Starliner like to be up there, but they can hang around and be competitive.
19:00 – Trais Fluors
Several of these tend to start slowly and there isn’t much pace on paper. TRAIS FLUORS bounced back with a bang over C&D last month and, despite a 3lb rise, remains well handicapped on form from even the start of the year. Panama City looks like the chief threat.
