An open event in which SNOOZE LANE may bounce back from his latest below-par run granted a clearer passage. Dangers abound, with Poetic Force (second choice), Yoshimi and Gilt Edge all having something to recommend them.
17:00 – Safanah
A trappy event in which recent Lingfield scorer Lady Wingalong is high on the shortlist back down into a Class 6. Mokaatil and Plumette (second choice) are also greatly respected but SAFANAH could prove a different proposition now upped to 7f for her handicap debut.
17:30 – Sol Argent
Good support for Latona in first-time headgear would look significant in a competitive nursery. SOL ARGENT was soon being pushed along on his handicap debut over the extended 1m here a fortnight ago and it may again not be plain sailing from a similarly wide stall, but that staying-on second was a big step up on his turf efforts and the stiffer test should suit. Patrol holds obvious claims too.
18:00 – Steps In Time
Having had the more-experienced Mr Grimes behind when shaping with promise on his recent course debut, STEPS IN TIME can get off the mark at the main expense of Waiting For Love. Capla Lazarus is another to hold claims on this autumn’s two turf efforts.
18:30 – Dubai Magic
Carbine Harvester looks a likely improver now tongue tied for his nursery debut while several bring solid nursery form into the race. Oakley Boy, Ghostman and Piranha Rama (second choice) are high on the list but perhaps DUBAI MAGIC can reverse last month’s Chelmsford placings with Piranha Rama.
19:00 – Dance Time (NAP)
Unexposed as a stayer, having only gone beyond 1m4f twice before, recent 2m course winner DANCE TIME (nap) is fancied to defy a 3lb higher mark. Black Smoke looks the pick of Mark Loughnane’s trio, with the consistent Swinging London another to consider.
19:30 – Harvanna
My Awele is on the up but an 8lb rise for her latest Southwell win asks a stiffer question. Champagne Sarah, Jax Edge and Runaround Sioux (second choice) all have something to recommend them but it might be worth siding with HARVANNA on her first run for Mick Appleby. She ran well in a stronger race at Newcastle when last seen six weeks ago and could hold a slight class edge over today’s rivals.
20:00 – Giorgio M
Alfa Whiteburd is on a roll and can go well despite another hike up the weights, while Crimson Sand and Phoenix Of Dreams also come right into the reckoning. GIORGIO M needs to get it right at the start but he’s handicapped to win and his last two efforts have both threatened better.
20:30 – Caramay
A few of these lurk on potentially dangerous marks but the safest options look to be CARAMAY and Sisterandbrother. The selection wasn’t seen to best effect at Southwell last time and can resume winning ways.
